I think that the module would have to be scalable and "generic:

This would mean primarily human/humanoid antagonists, i think, with class levels that are easily scalable. The Penumbra Adventure, Maiden Voyage comes to mind.

Sounds like a good idea. I always did like the commonality of all the old modules, being able to discuss the experience with other gamers.

As for scalable and generic, maybe something from Dungeon magazine, since very often they have hints on scaling their adventures? Perhaps Isle of Dread?

I was thinking that myself.

That said: does the dungeon revamp differ from/update the original (beyond the 3.5 rules update)? I already ran my current group through my translation of the original. They didn't get all the way through the temple, and they killed... um, one of the significant encounters on the north end of the isle (of course, it would be pretty easy to do sequel and scaled up in one swoop there.. a parent or mate of the creature in question drops by and finds their beloved missing...)

Dungeon Magazine might be hard for some peoplle to get since lots of the old copies don't stay for sale long and not everyone gets the magazine.

That's a fun idea, but we're about to start an Age of Worms campaign in the next few weeks (once our d20 Modern game has it's last session) so I won't be participating unless the Age of Worms modules are the ones you'll be doing.

Speaking of which, doesn't it seem like the Dungeon campaign arcs are already perfect for this type of discussion?

I think this is a great idea. My group often does 1 shots as a break from on going campaigns, or when one DM isn't ready for the next arc. I think the module would have to be available as a pdf to allow the most access. Also I think a good idea, if this is tobe ongoing, is to do one in certain catagories. Like 1 1-3rd level, another 4-6th, etc.
