D&D General Let's list/complain about things we don't like

They seem to be, so long as they have access to the houserules. I tend to print out the relevant ones so they're easier to use.

Hmmm. Odd. I've historically had better luck with convincing people to play an entirely different game than engage with heavy houserules in a game they already know.

I don't know what to tell you. I have a mix of experience levels in my group, but all of them are at some level or other familiar with 5e. I got them into Level Up a couple years ago, and new players have been introduced through that. Most of my houserules on top of that are expansion of player options, so if as a player you want to make use of those some of the responsibility to become familiar with those options falls on you.

I wasn't denying your experience, just musing on the difference in players here.

"Excuse me, Anon, but can you help me with something? It's about that...
Rampant ignorance, corrupt elites terrorizing their populace, the price of goods rapidly fluctuating, witch hunts, superstition replacing science, the Church controlling all aspects of society, rampant racism and sexism.
Oh, and my daughter's pet kitten is missing too!"
