Let's make some 4e iconics.

Who'd be interested in creating our own set of iconics for 4th edition? We could come up with stats, appearance, and quirks for one character per class, at 1st, 5th, 15th, and 25th level.

My suggestions for race-class combos would be as follows, but I'd like to get multiple people to contribute, to involve the community. Maybe when we get this all done, we could round up artists to illustrate them.

Updated: We now have dibs called for all the characters, but we're still looking for suggestions and feedback, especially since designing high level PCs can be a chore.

Cleric - Dwarf. Dibs called by Klaus.

Fighter - Dragonborn. Dibs called by Lorthanoth.

Paladin - Half-Elf. Dibs called by Jack99.

Ranger - Elf. Dibs called by Bagpuss.

Rogue - Halfling. Dibs called by evilhalfling.

Warlock - Tiefling. Dibs called by Kishin.

Warlord - Eladrin. Dibs called by Blargney the Second.

Wizard - Human. Dibs called by RangerWickett.

Sound good? Please call dibs if you're interested.

Cleric - Dwarf. You want your healer to be tough, and dwarves have the best gods.

Fighter - Dragonborn. Because marking with a breath weapon rules.

Paladin - Half-Elf.

Ranger - Elf. Legolas.

Rogue - Halfling.

Warlock - Tiefling.

Warlord - Human. Because humans should rule the world.

Wizard - Eladrin.

Sound good? Feel free to call dibs. I'll take whatever's left.
And then you hire me to make portraits, yes?

:D

It works out fluff wise, but in game terms switch to Eladrin Warlord and Human Wizard and you have it right.

Yeah, specially if the Eladrin Warlord goes with hide armor instead of chainmail. With a multiclass with Ranger and a couple of Ranged attack powers, he'd do fine as a spear/javelin based leader.

I don't think we want to multiclass the iconics though. That said, I second Eladrin Warlord and Human Wizard.

I would also strongly suggest making them at 1st level too.

And that's not just because I'd like to steal them for use in my demo game.

What sources to use? Do we use Dragon, Martial Power or FRPG? If we level these up later, do we use Adventurer's Vault?

As for 1st level, I made 85 or so RPGA characters using the character builder, and those Iconics listed above were among the first. I can start posting them if people would like, though they don't include Martial Power.

I figured Elf (of some sort) ought to equal wizard, but sure, we can go for Eladrin warlord and Human wizard.

And this is just a fun thing to do, not anything for profit. If when we get all this done people want to chip in a few bucks each to hire the esteemed Mr. Pozas, then I'm sure we could even put in the extra mile to have somebody lay it out all fancy like for print-outs. But that'll come later.

Sure, 1st level can work too. I would suggest using just the PHB. Sure, it's not as fun and varied, but they're meant to be iconic. What will make them stand out will be their aesthetics.

Maybe we could include some adventurer's vault materials, but if we do that we'd want to include stats for the magic items, and I was hoping to keep this more of a streamlined "fit the PC on one sheet" format.

So, does anyone have any preferences to who they want to make?
