Geez. What's with the penguin love? And how does one cross a penguin with chuck norris and a weasel? WITHOUT "Getting them good and drunk"?

Penguins. Always.

For too long, these noble creatures have been deprived of their proper place in myth, legend, and song. End the unfair oppression! Up with Penguins!

In the last PbP I ran, the game switched from 1e to 3e in the middle one one session. I devised the hydrimera; part giant squid, part fiendish shark, and part feline sea lion, its ink clouds turn victims to stone. It was quite handy to have them take a 12-year "nap", while I adjusted the timeline. ;)

In my first online game I devised the Median Mixture, a potion that, when imbibed by two creatures of the opposite sex, made them viable with one another.

As for hybrids of other sorts, I have some ideas. ;)

I like the idea of a penguin/monkey. Pengorilla? Babooquin?

Alternatively, I also like the idea of a snake crossed with sheep. It would be some sort of fluffy heard animal which slithers like a snake. Maybe you could also put ram horns on the head of it.

On a side note, the Owlbear isn't something which is unique to D&D. I think it came from Scandinavian mythology. I just can't remember what the name of the creature was.
