Well, today I'd like to talk about Archivists. Specifically, interesting feats for Archivists, and, interesting SPELLS for Archivists.

I have Spontaneous Healer pencilled in so far, and some interesting spells, but I am interested to see if anyone else has any interesting ideas also.

Well, today I'd like to talk about Archivists. Specifically, interesting feats for Archivists, and, interesting SPELLS for Archivists.

Ah, I just made another Archivist, and I also have Spontaneous Healer. Couldn't find much else of interest, other than the Archivist feats from HoH that expand your Dark Knowledge. I also took Breadth of Knowledge to use Knowledge skill untrained and get a +1 to the ones I trained (which was most of them).

Spells that seemed noticably cool:

Black Tentacles as a level 3 spell, courtesy of a domain (Blackwater I believe)

Stoneskin without the material component (off some domain, and since it isn't arcane...)

Then there were others that you could pick up at bargain prices off others' lists (I can't remember which is from where, but I found a list online somewhere)--

Deathwatch as an orison

Darkvision, Resist Energy, Bless Weapon, Remove Paralysis as level 1 spells

Tongues, Magic Circle Against Evil, Remove Disease as level 2 spells

Charm Monster, Confusion, Restoration, GMW, Scrying, Dimensional Anchor, Divination as level 3 spells

Mass Cure Light Wounds (woohoo--can be swapped with the feat!), Break Enchantment, Flame Strike, Holy Sword as level 4 spells

Lesser Restoration as level 1, and Delay Poison as level 1 were 2 more of my favorite finds. =)

Shugenja has an exciting divine spell list, I can say for sure. I am not sure I want to be a "Draconic Archivist" since its for Scarred Lands, and I dont think Dragons have been around for a mazbillion years, or something.

I looked at Collegiate Wizard, I think its in flavor for an Archivist.

I forgot to mention Lesser Restoration at level 1! Dagnabbit, I actually took that too. Delay Poison isn't so exciting--though our Cleric in SCAP (played by 'the Levistus guy') with my other Archivist's nudging managed to cheat his way through the drinking contest with that spell.

I usually just let them deal with the poison. I'm a bad healer, aren't I

YES. Bad healer.

I picked up some more cool stuff from Relics and Rituals and RR2, I'm gonna end up paying most of my level 6 wealth for scribing costs.

I took, tentatively, Spontaneous Healer, (+4 wis bonus), Eschew Materials, Craft Wondrous Item.

I think for magic items, I am gonna get Boccob's Blessed Book, and Hewards Handy Haversack, and call it a day.

Or perhaps I misremembered Boccob's cost, and thats a fantasy which aint happening. lol

The adept spell list is a good one to mine. Polymorph and a 5th-level heal are fun.

I love the Archivist class, and I thought that the class needed a counterpart whose primary focus was Nature, Animals, Humanoids, etc (along with Druid spell list primarily, with access to found clerical spells), yet otherwise identical to the Archivist. It is called the Biosoph which can be accessed below in my signature.

Unfortunately, even though I love the premise of the Archivist, I have yet had the opportunity to actual play one. Hopefully soon it will happen.
