this thread is a compilation of the lowest level divine spells you can get as an archivist, and is pretty handy. I also use this website alot to find the perfect spell..![]()
Are you sure about that? Merely being divine doesn't eliminate costly components. I know this rule applies to some spells:Rystil Arden said:Stoneskin without the material component (off some domain, and since it isn't arcane...)
There's nothing about stoneskin indicating that this rule would apply. The druid version, for example, would still require the 250 gp of diamond dust.Divine Focus (DF)
A divine focus component is an item of spiritual significance. The divine focus for a cleric or a paladin is a holy symbol appropriate to the character’s faith.
If the Components line includes F/DF or M/DF, the arcane version of the spell has a focus component or a material component (the abbreviation before the slash) and the divine version has a divine focus component (the abbreviation after the slash).
Stoneskin
Abjuration
Level: Drd 5, Earth 6, Sor/Wiz 4, Strength 6
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: 10 min./level or until discharged
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
The warded creature gains resistance to blows, cuts, stabs, and slashes. The subject gains damage reduction 10/adamantine. (It ignores the first 10 points of damage each time it takes damage from a weapon, though an adamantine weapon bypasses the reduction.) Once the spell has prevented a total of 10 points of damage per caster level (maximum 150 points), it is discharged.
Material Component
Granite and 250 gp worth of diamond dust sprinkled on the target’s skin.
Curses--I thought it said "Arcane Material Component" rather than "Material Component", much like with Identify. This trick does work with Identify though--no pearl shake for Archivists!boolean said:Are you sure about that? Merely being divine doesn't eliminate costly components. Is that feat limited to gnomes?Jubilee said:I play a gnome archivist with the trivial knowledge feat - which lets me roll 2d20 for any knowledge check and get the highest (and dark knowledge counts as a knowledge check! woo!!).
Sadly yes. I don't really like playing gnomes, so I never get to take that feat with my Archivists.jasin said:Is that feat limited to gnomes?

I don't mean I think gnomes are weak...I just don't like playing gnomes. As for Whisper Gnomes, they are massively unfair, particularly to halflings. The preponderence of crazy things they get is far too much for LA +0--they need to be given LA +1 (they'd be a weak LA +1, but they'd fit the bill). And if you want to tell me that they fit in LA +0 because they are weaker than Warforged or something like that...we should take it to another threadJubilee said:If you haven't already, you should take a look at the whisper gnome in races of stone. You still get 30 ft movement, and you get dark vision. I wouldn't play a gnome unless it were a whisper gnome..
