hard pre reqs, but 1 level of dervish (CW) can let you wield a scimitar as a light weapon, thus you can finess it and its pritty good with twf.

If the swashbuckler can add int to finessable weapon (not sure if its light only) races of wild has a exotic weapon called a court blade. two handed thats finessable and its a d10 18-20x2

I think the cha may be for skills. The archetype of a swashbuckler normally has high cha, so you can look cool while swinging on that chandler, but i think that’s about it. They dont need cha, but high cha can make them fun and memorable, and really really cheesy (in a good way).

so no, you dont need cha if you dont want to play that way.

dervish may be a bad idea on second thought, as thier is a light blade (cw or races of wild) that will let you do pritty much the same thing with twf. Its a exotic weapon as well. Elves get all the nifty toys.

Can you enter dervish before attaining level 3 as a character? :uhoh:

MR, what does your ultimate build plan look like? It's entirely possible that the "most optimal" thing at lower levels will not enable you to grab the feats/PrCs that you might want later.

No, you can't, 6th level is earliest because of ranks in skills. The best progression is probably human Swa3/Barb1/Ftr1/DervX. This is because the +10ft. speed from barb is very useful. You'll want to max as much as you can your ranks in Perform Dance.

Right, perform dance. Which IIRC is a CC skill for everything but bards, who are the worst possible choice to go into dervish. Makes no sense to me. To make a good dervish you pretty much need the cosmpolitan feat.

Actually, it makes sense to me. Artistic expression is often part of monastic life.

In our world, I know that chanting and painting are often used as the focus of meditation. Some sort of "dancing meditation" would also work perfectly. After all, to the real dervishes, dance was a form of religious experiance.
