LG vs. N: Lawful Good Victorious!

Salla's big ferocious bite is not big and ferocious enough (rolled 34-4=30). Wow. Really big dragons are really hard to hit.

Round 678

MacEther arcs to 35N95E100Z northbound, and hurls Salla out of the arena.

Next in round 678 for Lawful Good is a planetar (angel) (Monster Manual).

Round 679

MacEther is not impressed by David's increased force of personality. MacEther would like to introduce David to an ethereal dragon's idea of force.

MacEther arcs down to 55N75E70Z, SW.

MacEther doesn't need to be impressed yet, but if he misses the save by 2 or 1, he will be impressed. David flaps over to 70n75e20z and casts mass charm monster on MacEther (note the DC is now 26, assuming SR is made).

"Be my friend. Protect me."

PS What's David's knowledge skills? Does he know anything about Ethereal Dragons besides what he's seen?

David's knowledge skills are dungeoneering, history, nature, nobility, and criminal behavior.

After David flaps over and before he tries to use his spell-like ability, MacEther shows him an example of dragon force, pummeling him (rolled 17 Ref save) for 83 points of force damage. David survives the massive damage (natural 20 Fort save), but has only 50 HP remaining.

MacEther's magical protection is too strong for David this time (20 CL check).

Round 680

MacEther laboriously circles down to 55N85E30Z, NW. David can take an AoO, if desired.

David will swing his greatsword in a casual arc.
Then cast Harm, hoping to get a little more damage in before being canceled. He drops to the arena floor. "I always did want to fight a dragon."

Is there a limit to what planes David can shift to? Does the shadow plane exist (as a coterminal plane)? Does David know that MacEther is an ethereal dragon or have any reason to expect that it can see into or attack into the ethereal plane?

David knows nothing about MacEther other than what has been observed. David sees that MacEther is disappearing and reappearing at random intervals, but does not have Spellcraft to know what the effect is.

The shadow plane is coterminous. There should be a limit as to what planes David can shift to because he requires a separate tuning fork for each plane. As far as I can tell, this has not been addressed, because plane shift has only been used to drive an opponent out of the arena.

David's AoO bounces off MacEther's scales (rolled 28).

David tries to touch MacEther just as he disappears (01%). David is still holding the charge of the spell however, along with his greatsword in only one hand. David heals up to 60 HP.

As David floats down, MacEther bites (rolled 46) him for 18-10=8 points of damage. MacEther grabs on (69 vs. 43 grapple). (You know you have been playing TBoAA too much when a grapple modifier of +25 seems pathetic.)

Round 681

MacEther whips his head around and throws David out of the arena. He continues flying to 65N65E50Z, westbound. He has 325 HP.

Next in round 681 for Lawful Good is a hound archon hero (Monster Manual). That's good, because Lawful Good needs a hero, and he's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast.

Yeah, well, Evilhalfling took my option away to sneaking in an order. :) I had planned to have David plane shift, buff and then, oops, he can't plane shift back -- nevermind. He otherwise would have taken the draw. The dragon was too nasty. Oh well, c'est la via.
