(LHHS) The Light Hearted Hack n' Slash Game (III)

Dalamar
"I think it is best for us to go in, the Lady might be in trouble and there isn't time to get the guards."
Krindor fastens her shield and rest her hand on her sword's handle, ready to unseath it at a moments notice. She then moves onwards.

Krindor finds herself entering the office of the Silver Lady, you find it horrendously changed. A hole, a gaping redish hole covered in layers of strange liquid darkness is in the center of the room, where a rug once covered it. Piering around, the green carpet that covers most of the room is covered with scortch marks. A bit of blood leads around the room, behind the desk.

The hole makes up 75% of the room, only a small pathway of normal green turf is surrounding the portal, roughly 4 and 1/2 feet wide on all sides. Despite the fact that you havn't activated the power again, you sense overwhelming evil from inside the portal.

Things become very hectic in the church, you can now hear the sudden screams of some women coming from the hole, and the entire church seems to be crying out in pain. People are reacting in rooms adjacent, they are yelling out obsenities, and cowering out of their locations, away from the church.

Lady Jayle turns to you, "The Demroch-Kai, that's what this is about?" She then looks a bit puzzled, draws out her blade, and looks around confusedly, "This is unapproachable... my god, what's going on? Divinity and intervention, what the hell am I looking at? It's a portal, blasted portal into the crypts below the city... stay back."

As the noises in the church become louder, a group of halberd-armed soldiers of light show up behind Krindor and Jayle, "What the hell is that?" And the commander yells at his rear-most accomplice, "Get father Hazen, immediately. The Lady's room is accursed. Immediately!"

Khala sells the cloaks, sells the 4 kama's for whatever he can get, pays the money to get healed, and then looks around for someone selling magical items, if they exist.

The Kama's are not worth more than a gold piece each.

(Darkwolf, can you tell me exactly how much currency you now have? This total will tell me how 'far' into magic items I need to go. You can have 'many' different types of items 'commissioned' for full price. Some items are made that people buy somewhat commonly (such as magic ammunition, +1 weapons and armor, potions, scrolls, and dispensible items), and I like to roll out a table of 'Items in current circulation', which would be used magic items and items that were constructed and havn't managed to be bought up into use yet, or even items that were pawned out of necessity, or recovered as contraband; these kind of items have a reduced price due to the fact that the owners want money for them, but a buyer isn't there to be had.)

Somehow, you stumble upon a few different items that vendors just want to sell to you:

Trader 1
A Rod fo Flame Extinguishing (valued at 15000 gp); Costs 9000 gp
2 Immovable Rods (valued at 7500 gp); Costs 4000 gp each

Trader 2
A Belt of Great Strength (+6) (valued at 36000 gp); Costs 20000 gp
Tome of Clear Thought (+4) (valued at 110,000 gp); Costs 95000 gp
Cloak of Arachnida (Valued at 6000 gp); Costs 2200 gp.
Heward's Handy Haversack (Valued at 2000 gp); Costs 1750 gp
Wand of Magic Missile (45 Charges Left); Being Sold for 600 gp
Wand of Cure Serious Wounds (14 Charges Left); Being Sold for 2000 gp

Telvanni Trader As a special 'guild' recruitment action, when you are trying to barter, a letter is passed on to you with a location (just outside the market square in a particular tavern), and an offer is made:

If your interested, I can acquire any potions, scrolls, wands, weapons, or armor that can be made by a good hedge-mage for 9/10ths the cost, but this is entirely up to you. I work for the Telvanni, and if you want this offer, you will be required to sign a contract.

Mages Guild Trader The mages guild can craft many different items, but you find out that they have a number of rings of minor elemental resistance.

A Ring of minor elemental resistance (acid, cold, electric, or fire) would cost you a meager 4000 gold pieces at the moment.

Krindor looks around, concerned.
"But where is the Lady herself?"
Hearing screams from the hole, the breton crouches near the edge, trying to evaluate how long a fall it is to reach a surface that could hold her.

Jayle looks akwardly and squints for a second...

"Look where that blood is leading, behind the desk. We should check it out."

The screams are becoming more faint, as if the distance is growing bigger. The hole is shrinking ever so slightly with your observation, obviously it's duration is wearing out.

You don't see any 'surface' that can hold you, however the liquid darkness, if substancial, provides some method to move around from point to point within the slighlty shrinking pit. The 'bottom' appears to be 60 feet below. When you are gazing into it, Jayle screams at you, "Back away from that, it leads into the sealed off crypts. Some of Toldoth's spawn still reside there."

"Somebody is in there, is it not our duty to help those in need?"
Despite his vocal protest, Krindor steps away from the pit and moves over to see who it is that is behind the desk.

"You can see someone in there? What are you talking about? I don't see anything!"

As you try to work your way around the pit and to the other side of the room, you find the Captain of the Guard, in her full dress-plate mail wounded and shaking violently in pain. She's mumbling something completely incoherent and shaking.

After a quick examination, you notice that she has a huge gash on her left side, which she has squeezed against the flooring of the room in an effort to cover the 8 inch wide ripping wound. Her hair is ripped out in places and she seems to be in absolutely intense pain and shock.

"Not see, hear. I hear female voices screaming in the hole."
Krindor kneels next to the Captain of the Guard, murmurs a soft prayer to the deities and uses her lay on hands to heal the Lady 8 hp.

Khala will purchase the cloak of arachnida and then go check out what the (Telvanni) contract entails.

ooc: down to 1700 gp 4 silver
