(LHHS) The Light Hearted Hack n' Slash Game (III)

"I don't know from where my family comes from, grandpa never really talked much of it. He seemed a little troubled when I asked. I'm not sure, but I think that, when I was young, I heard my parents talking of some disagreements between the heads of the knighthood and grandpa."
Krindor turns the sword in her hand, taking a closer look to it.
"I'm not sure, but I would think that it gains power from honor, being the weapon of paladins for many generations."

OoC: How does the leveling work since the bastard sword is already a masterwork item thanks to our generous starting money? Does it gain XP retroactively?

(Well, first off, since you think it is most appropriate to award xp based on honor, and the item was made masterwork, we will start with the 1000 xp required to make the item level 2. Then we add 500 quest experience for saving the girl from the Troll and 500 more for bringing her to Allimon. That puts you at 2000, 1000 away from having your weapon enhance to +1.)

"Ah, that seems curious." Jayle goes over things a bit in her head. "A man named Algus was once removed from the Limberly Knights. Do you know 'of' him?"

(those of you who know where I got that name can keep your mouthes shut ;).)

Regis rushes out of the room, a bit astranged at the lack of comments on the Impressario, and takes his leave. Jayle turns back to brawn and says, "Well, sir Brawn, your blade? I just wanted to examine it."

Khala looks around looking just like Black Mage when all Fighter wants to do is talk about swords. Slightly flustered and feeling very out of place....and wondering where his dagger is.

(ok..not really on that last part ;p )

OoC: Darn. The name sounds familiar but I can't place it. Even had to check that it wasn't the name of Sturm's father.

IC: "No, I do not think I know of him. Why was he removed?"

"Algus Grandfather was a traitor who sold out his unit in the 50 years war, which resulted in a massacre. He thought he would get away with it, but he was punished by Balbanes himself. Just making sure your not related to him. Traitors are horrible, and although I would not accuse anyone for being kin, it is a concern that someone eventually appologise for his treachery. He was never found."

The room seems silent, and a bit awkward for a bit, the Impressario on his way back, but not yet arrived.

(Wow! I just nailed that last line... no posts in a few days, anyway...)

The Impressario finally returns, and he comes with maps, miniatures, a set of stage directions, and enough copies of a play for everyone in the room and a few others. He hands out the plays...

They are each plays in their own right, not necessarily the best written, but definitely of sufficient quality to put on display in town. The Impressario calls out, "Read it, Read it!" and everyone save himself and Jayle paws through the material. The play focuses around someone named Adam, some kind of diligent hero who is working undercover in a criminal syndicate in the city of Montana. This lovely piece of fiction details the stories of Adam and his friends as they manuever themselves into position to take down the unnamed big bad evil guy, but as Adam seems to be successful, all his friends are dying around him.

The story is going up in scale, criminals being hunted down by knights and templar in mass, and with tons of illegal activity ranging from the sale of illegal contraband to the assassination of religious figures is detailed, in a short and concise 'overview' in the front 10 pages of the play. After everyone finishes the introduction, around the time some people finish the first act, he directs everyone to take a look at the end.

This document being over 150 pages in length, written in common, is unfinished. The Impressario directs, "We havn't finished this one. It's been gathering dust for a long time. Adam was identified, and well, he had to reveal that he was in charge of the 'Troupe' that was organizing this grand 'charade' to stop the mad 'antagonist' from doing whatever he was doing. We just couldn't find enough writers to finish the tale. You offered your blade. I'd like to see you all help me to put pen to paper and finish this story."

He looks to see if his innuendo is still as tactful as he had been in the story.

The Impressario, being very skilled with his observations of people, takes your look for it's words, and speaks out, "Yes, I am completely serious. Is that really what you meant, or are you asking me if I'm serious about having your aid? If so, the answer is once again yes."

"Tell us more about the plot and the evil guy. Though I'd love to have an important role in the story, I'd also like to be one of those that sees its ending alive. Which role in the play do you see us fit for?"

Odd guy this Impressario. But interesting, in his way. He seems to know what he's doing, I can't say that of many people I've met.

"Well, your going to need to read the entire play up to the final page to really understand the villains. Many of them have, for a long time, been missing, and have been replaced. A few remain, including the Arcane Artist woman, and the deviant bounty hunter."

Regis' ears perk up a bit.

Continuing, "As for the source of all this villainy, I still have not found the answer. As I stated, no pen has been taken to this project in at least 5 years. Most of the old leads are dead or rotten to the core by now. I'm thinking that any rendition would be more of a sequal than a continuation of the story. I supposed, perhaps you would fill the rolls of all the missing individuals that were supporting the protaganist? They are all long gone now."

"To be particular, the only villain I can still confirm is the existence of the Lady Sorcereress Akala Sparkfiend, she is the only true villain I can recall as still having a seat in town. The Arcane Artist woman still lives here, in her father's abode, but she is not exactly a villain, just a lady with Villainous connections. The bounty hunter, I assume Sir Regis is connected with, undoubtedly?"

Regis speaks up, "You mean Pavintarion?"

The Impressario, "Well, you mean Palvintron, but you havn't finished the story, so you will be excused."
