Is Libris Mortis out yet? I know it is supposed to be released in October, but people often get them sooner and give us reviews + content overview. :)

Well, I have pre-order it on Amazon and, after the releasing date, I have to wait two week for the shipping in Europe. So I really interested to see a book's review! ;)... Even becuase the relese date is on October 27, 2004 :(

According to my WotC pre-order email, Libris Mortis and Shining South have a street date of Oct. 8; Aberrations is Oct. 15; the special leather-bound PHB is Oct. 29; Complete Arcane, Sharn: City of Towers (Eberron), and Star Wars Ultimate Missions are Nov. 12.

Well the street date of Oct. 8 is far better than Amazon's date... and more probable.
Sigh! I have to wait other 10 days just to see a review... :(

Has anyone else notice that all WotC's books listed on Amazon aren't in stock for two weeks (or more) after they start showing up in FLGS? Is this a reaction to Amazon "pre-shipping" new books last year?

Someone on another post stated that WOTC is intentionally holding back on deliveries to Amazon for 2 weeks in order to give the FLGS a chance to get first sales. I don't know how true this is. But IMO it could be true, I used to get all my Amazon D&D deliveries for the month between 11-13 of the month. Since July it has switched to the end of the month. Just this Monday I received Frostburn, and today or tomorrow I should receive Monster Manual 3. Most stores have had them for 2-3 weeks now.
Doesn't bother me, I can wait a few weeks to save some money.

Also I chose free shipping which for me only takes 1 or 2 days delivery since Amazon has a distribution warehouse in Maryland (1 day from email notification) and southern PA (2 days from email notification).

This news makes me squeal like a giddy school girl. Can't wait to get my hands on Libris Mortis. And I'll be getting Mortal Kombat: Deception around that same time!

Oh, the last couple of months have been so good... :D

.

You save money buying at amazon compared to your FLGS ? Strange - around here (Europe, Germany to be specific ) the FLGS tend to be cheaper by a few Euros then Amazon (about Euro 5,- on "Frostburn", my last purchase ) - especially if they are large (the shop) or "hot" ( the bokk) enough to sell a few dozens or more. Of course, there actually has to be a FLGS around, but simply for monetary reasons Amazon doesn't really cut it....

Routinely happens with me, as well. If you're willing to take the slow/free shipping, you can undercut your FLGS (I really don't have one, anyway -- I got a "what?" when I asked about Eberron this summer) and comic shops (on graphic novels) pretty consistently, even with regular shopper comic shop discounts common in the States.
