First Post
Im going to be making a Light Cleric (starting at level 3). Using the 27pt buy system what would be a good set of numbers to start with? Also I will be a Hill Dwarf

Thanks alot

Max wis/con, dump everything else. Since you're a hill dwarf you could probably get away with having a slightly lower con and put the points in something else instead.

Should I go like 15 15 14 10 8 8. Str 10 dex 15 con 14 int 8 wis 15 8 charisma. Seems pretty standard I'd much rather toll Stas and try my luck but dm is against rolling

Focus on Wis, Con, and Dex. I don't like to have 8s. So I'd probably try to get a 15 on Wis and Con. Then a 12 on Dex. Then 10s or so on everything else.

Well light clerics get medium armor so you want a 14 dex, 16 con, 16 wis, at the start everything else doesn't matter.

So Str 10 (2pts), Dex 14 (7pts), Con 14 (7pts), Wis 15 (9pts), Int 10 (2pts), Cha 8 (0 pts). You can place the 8 in strength or intelligence if you prefer depending on how important those types of ability checks are for you.

This will max out you Wis for spellcasting, your Con for H.P and concentration checks, and give you your best AC.

thanks for the response.
I was going to make a Druid but the DM Deemed it shifting far too powerful and Nerfed it.

I could shift into bear and fight then if I wanted to shift back into bear later I would have to take the hit points I left it with. And also I cant shift = to the number of rounds equal to the damage I take in druid form.

And finally no Barbarian Multiclass

I do wish to play a Dwarf as the whole campaign is based on a dwarven city and dwarves are pretty cool. But I see no point in going Druid now

The only thing OP about Druid shape shifting exists (IIRC) when you can shift to a CR 1 creature at level 2. But that doesn't last for long at all. Most Druid forms have such low AC they are pin cushions.

Shifting isn't OP. The OPness only lasts a few levels from 2 to 3 or 4. CR 2 creatures by level 6 start to balance out. You can do some interesting things with shifting. I like turning into a giant constrictor snake and wrapping someone up. Helps the party hammer a creature.
