Light Step

Perhaps some of you might take a look at it, but, as written, is there anything to suggest that multiple characters with Light Step cannot stack the benefits?

The bonuses given are not named, and would be rather substantial stacked together. Logically it is probably not meant to stack, but I am not sure that is explicitly says you cannot. Might be another thing to chalk up for being erratta'd.

I think bonuses of the same kind don't stack, period.

Page 275 of the PHB: "There's one important rule for bonuses: Don't add together bonuses of the same type to the same roll or score, use the higher bonus."

As for types, there are armor, enhancement, feat, item, power, proficiency, racial, shield, and untyped. Light Step gives a feat bonus, so only one would take affect if multiple party members had the skill.

While that's an unfortunately confusing situation, the fact remains that a bonus is typed by source, unless stated otherwise. If a feat gives a bonus, it's a feat bonus, unless the feat specifically states that it is not.

But when it says "+X bonus" rather than "+X feat bonus", that's stating otherwise, right? It doesn't apply to Light Step, of course, but, for instance, I was under the impression that Weapon Focus [Bow] and Sly Hunter would stack.

Upon further reading, my initial statement is incorrect. If the feat just says "+2 bonus," without including type, it is indeed an untyped bonus. It's only a feat bonus if it says so.

Yeah, that would have been my initial answer to the OP too. I was just a bit alarmed when I saw your other post, since I know you have a lot more experience with the rules than almost any of us.

More familiar, yes, but still working on mastery.

There are a lot of specifics I haven't come across yet, and I'm still trying to rid myself of a lot of 3.5-based thinking.
