Light vs. Dark - Soth vs Sabaron!

MidKnight

First Post
The Death Knight, Soth, stands in the shadows at the edge of the clearing by Sabaron's Koi pond. How he knows its location is something of a mystery. As Sabaron completes the burial rites for the dead warriors, Soth steps from the shadows.

"In seeking vengeance for the brutal slaying of Dui Lei, you have become what you sought to destroy."

Soth steps further into the clearing, "It must be difficult to live with yourself." He draws forth his black blade and slips out a dagger. Swinging them around in intricate patterns, he approaches the Warrior of Light.

"You shall face me now. For in my defeat, you may find the peace to set your troubled soul at ease... or perhaps, you will find something else... at the end of my blade."

The way Soth handles the blade and dagger strike a familiar chord in Sabaron. Something about the subtle variations in the way he weaves the patterns stirs images from his mind. They are phantom images of another time and place...

OOC: If you accept this challenge Sabaron, I would like to request that Wicht judge this match. Whether or not this a death match, I would leave up to you (it pretty much is for me already :)).

Sabaron ignores Soth until he hears the sound of blades being drawn. He then turns around.

"Arwen deserved his fate, unlike Diu Lei. I gained no special power from his death, while Arwen murdered Diu Lei simply to increase his own power by feasting on his soul. My mind and soul are free from doubt in my path, as I am a Paladin, and should I transgress, I would lose that status."

Sabaron draws his sword and straps on his shield. Both are nicked and dented from use.

"In the year I have been in this land, I have only drawn this sword three times. It has never left its sheath without causing someone's death. Once, against the terrible undead zombie, Zarathud the Rotten. The second time was against Sir Arwen, the 'Honorable' murderer. The third time is now. I accept your challenge, Black Knight of the Rose."

ooc: While a Death Match is not advantageous to me, it's only fair. So be it.

"ssssaaaaabbbbaaaaarrrroooonnnnnn" a raspy sheeky voice is herd.......

"arwen did not kill Dui Lei....... I did...." a most evil chuckle is herd.......

"arwen was weak and easy to control....... I hid deep inside his weak honorable soul and ate at it..... he did what I told him to dooooo...... what a pitafull fool he wwwaaassss......... and to think..... you kkkiiilllleeedddd him all for nnnoottttt...."

OOC: sorry sabaron for this bomb shell...I was waiting till you said one more thing about arwen killing dui lei.... I have been planning this sense you challenged me to a death match...*S*

Soth bows (actually bows!) to Sabaron.

"Then to the death it will be."

Soth looks about for a suitable judge...

When a judge is located he askes for a 5 flag, traditional, speed match.

I can judge I guess

Three ancient judges arrive to watch over this calamitous event. As their flag girl sets up their tea and snacks, they intone,

"A five flag speed match it is then. To the death."

"Furthermore...The ancient masters have decreed this match to take place at the mountain north-west of Ssu-Ma's Tomb on the night of the spear.."

Sabaron opens the match with a charge, hoping to overwhelm his foe with a fusillade of blows.

Soth slides to the left, following Sabaron's movements. He moves his sword and dagger in and out - blocking attack after attack made by the Light Warrior.

The thunder drifts next to the coast; fends off the violence of the weapon where it vigorously reduces the violence of the clouds!
