lightning bolt question

I disagree. I found while running my Sorcerer that Lightning Bolt was far more a surgical, close-in weapon than a Fireball. A Fireball is much harder to use in enclosed areas while avoiding hitting your meatshields. A Lightning Bolt can almost always be placed so as to affect nearly as many targets as a Fireball, save in perfect-case scenarios.
