Lightsaber wannabe

Oops, looks like you misunderstood me, or I misunderstood you.

The Force Blade can't be sundered, period. And it has a +1 enhancment bonus. The Force Blade ability is the equivalent of a +1 bonus, just like flaming. So you'd have a +1 Force Blade, which is the equivalent of a +2 weapon.

Looks like there was misunderstaning on both sides, but what I've got right above is probably the closest I've ever gotten in a write up. The big thing is that I want it to handle a +10 total weapon bonus in addition to its other qualities. And that I'd need the pricing for it.

Any ability that affects the weapon itself (including sunder immunity) should be priced as a +. In fact there are several enhancements like this in various books like Arms & Armour and Ultimate Magic Items.

Is this what everyone was getting at?

Energy Blade: This metal rod is shaped like a sword hilt. When the rod is activated, a blade springs forth from the base of the hilt, forming a sword. The particular blade is determined at creation. The sword blade is translucent and glows a decorative color, sheding light as a candle. It strikes as the sword used to create it, so an adamantine sword still ignores hardness. The blade can't be sundered. The energy blade is usually activated as it is being drawn, but can be activated as part of another action. The rod is composed of the same metal as the blade.
Moderate evocation and faint transmutation; CL 15; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Craft Rod, shrink item, wall of force, creator must be a caster of at least 9th level; Price +1.

Another way around that may get you what you want is a command-word item that casts Flame Blade at will.

If that doesn't do enough damage, Empower it. :)

Just a nit-pick, but you should probably specify that activating it is a Free action that does not provoke Attacks of Opportunity. I think that's what you meant by "The energy blade is usually activated as it is being drawn, but can be activated as part of another action."

Activating a weapon property like Flaming is normally a Standard action, so you should be clear that this is different.
