Limiting Greater Magical Weapon

I agree that GMW on arrows is overpowered. I've seen a lot of possible limitations mentioned on these boards that could help. Pick any two:
> Drop duration to 10min/level; personally I don't like this one, but it definitely works.
> We use the system Comrade Raoul mentioned: GMW increases the enhancement bonus until the Market Price is +1/3 levels. Then, add a spell "Superior Magic Weapon" (level 6 or 7) that increases Enhancement bonus BY +1/3 levels to a maximum Market Price of +10 (but to be fair to the Epic rules, it still shouldn't take you above +5 Enhancement, so you can add an Epic spell too.) Superior Magic Weapon should also be missing whichever other penalty you choose from this table.
> When cast on 50 arrows, GMW's duration drops to 1 minute/level since it's splitting the magic 50 ways. Or 10 minutes/level, if you want to be nice.
> (Bow plus 50 arrows) are treated as a single weapon for the purposes of GMW, so you cast it on the set. The attack bonus, hardness/HP bonus, and anti-sunder abilities of an Enhancement bonus go to the bow, the damage bonus and DR penetration go to the arrows.
And, this bonus only applies if the arrows you enchant this way are fired from the bow you enchant this way. No splitting up the 50 arrows for the entire group.
> Require a masterwork weapon for GMW to work, for the same reason you need a masterwork weapon for an Enhancement bonus. So, unless the guy pays for masterwork arrows, he's out of luck.
> The Enhancement bonus from GMW only adds to attack bonus and damage, not to DR penetration, Sunder ability, hardness, or HP. So, enchanting 50 arrows won't do you any good if the target has a hefty DR.

AFAIK, the only change to GMW in 3e is to allow it to grant an enhancement bonus equal to +1/4 levels, instead of +1/3 levels.

I like the 10 min/level house rule. Consider it adopted.
