Level Up (A5E) List of O5E spells that have been changed in some way?

Fairly simple question :) I would assume internally you have some sort of list of the O5E spells changed in A5E and what the changes were - could that be released to make the changes easier to see? Even a very basic pdf would be incredibly valuable to DMs shifting from O5E (so, most of them!)

Bonus points if you could do the same thing with new spells.

Double bonus points if you INCLUDE the actual spells so we dont need to look them up seperately, and include it in the drivethrurpg downloads or whatever! But I can imagine that being a fair workload, so I in no way think this one will happen 😄

Every spell has at least rewritten so the list is every spell in the book. Now some of those are just semantic changes.

Well that just straight up isn't true...unless you just mean formatting, which doesnt count.

Sounds like a community project! We could set up a google doc and divvy up the spells by alphabet?
This I think would be genuinely useful, for most people coming from 5e to get a feel for the actual CHANGES, rather than having to skim read over stuff and try and remember from o5e if this particular spell/rule is even different... :)

I think the response is focusing on the fact that it would be no easier for the designers to give you a list of changed spells. They are busy as well.
If you want this, then go through manually and make the changes yourself.

This. Trust me, the actual process of design work was more than enough to keep us all busy without the extra labor of keeping a change log. It's also worth noting that in basically all cases, the spells have the same role inside the game; fireball is still an AoE damage spell, scrying still lets you spy on people, etc.

I really don't think that's what he was saying, but ok. And I was saying IF they already had a list, it would be useful for 90% of people considering their new system.

I wasn't gonna press the point, but it seems like a HUGE marketing oversight for them to not provide an easy to digest format for reviewing the changes between a5e and o5e, given that such knowledge is what a HUGE portion of their new audience is actually looking for.

Yes the books need complete rules to be an independent system and easy to use once you've decided to move. Trying to make that decision is made a LOT harder by having to trawl through identical wording page after page and compare MANUALLY to see what has changed.

It's a MASSIVE barrier to further conversion, which is a major marketing no-no.

But I digress!

Anyone who wants to help me trawl, let me know, I've started going a-z, and ignoring rare spell variants for the time being, just to keep it to direct comparisons :)

I'll make a post soon, though its likely I've missed some as I'm doing this tired at the end of the day, so more eyes are always welcome! 😁
