D&D 5E Little changes catching you by surprise

What little details of 5e, that are changes from prior editions, are coming as complete surprises to you?

I was initially taken aback that skeletons and zombies aren't mindless now, but until today, I didn't realize another, related change: undead aren't innately immune to fear anymore!

That's gonna take some getting used to. :o

What else?

One thing thanks to a thread the other day - armors do not automatically slow your speed! As long as you have the STR, you're fine. On the other hand, if you use the alternate encumbrance rules, you'd better have AT LEASTa 15 or 16 STR if you wanna be sporting plate mail, a weapon and shield, and some basic adventuring gear. :)

I just realized that Dwarves and stout halflings take half damage from poison, effectively 1/4th damage on a save.

The should reduce the tpk potential of a certain infamous green dragon. :)

Some simple low-level monsters now take several hits to defeat. Skeletons, I'm looking at you.

Their susceptibility to blunt trauma helps here. Zombies, on the other hand, just need a whole lot of whacking.

Studded Leather being AC12 is still freaking me out a bit.
