Little known treasures from the littler guys- a List

I'm pretty keen on Tricky Owlbear's Behind the Spells: Compendium (for obvious reasons) which is still easily found in print at Lulu and in pdf form at your favorite online venue like here! All reviews have been quite positive but sales a bit slow given the book's emergence during the launch of 4e (so I hope you don't mind the blatant pimping here).

Jeff's post reminded me about one of my favorite 3e gems--Denizens of Avadnu. This monster book is flavorful, well-balanced, and gorgeous-looking to boot!

If you talk Denizens, then you need to throw in there the Broken Isles supplements by Inner Circle as well. Good stuff.

Oh... and Dark Legacies was pretty cool too.

If you DM 3.5, you owe it to yourself to buy SORD. This book claims that it'll shave 10-15 minutes off of each combat encounter, and it's incredible layout and easy-to-use format makes it live up to that boast. It really is a DM's best friend. Also, if you prefer Pathfinder (Beta) instead, check out it's counterpart for that, SORD Plus 1.0.

I've also got to recommend Kitsunemori. This book is the single best d20 setting/sourcebook for fantasy-inspired Japan. I can't endorse it enough. But DO NOT buy this from Dog Soul Publishing (over at RPGNow)! They have not paid the authors for their incredible work!

Its absolutely true. Its worth picking up GURPS Scarlet Pimpernel (in a scarlet sauce) to go with it.;)

Velvet sauce.

I got to playtest that at a convention. Fun supplement. Really could work in many systems, not just GURPs.

Brett's stuff is quite good too.

It's so hard to mention all the good pdfs out there when there's only so much at the top of one's brain. Avadnu is one of those good ones. Another that came out early on, but I treasure is Sam Witt's Airships.

I really like Red Spire Press' Dark Legacies. Very solid setting with sweet art to boot.

Yes, this is a cool setting. The art is by one of the Warhammer artists. It really did get missed by most, as I think its presentation alone should have made it a big seller.

The Spider-God's Bride by Xoth.Net Publishing (Book) in Games

The Spider God's Bride. Originally written for Necromancer by the guy who wrote their Mesopotamia.

Looks stellar...I've ordered it and I'm really stoked to get it, but I haven't read it yet. Necro's forumgoers sold me on it pretty quickly, though!

EDIT: It arrived and it's pretty great. I really enjoy the "ancient world" sumerian feel to it. Definitely not your "standard medieval fantasy" fare.
