Little known treasures from the littler guys- a List

I've also got to recommend Kitsunemori. This book is the single best d20 setting/sourcebook for fantasy-inspired Japan. I can't endorse it enough. But DO NOT buy this from Dog Soul Publishing (over at RPGNow)! They have not paid the authors for their incredible work!

I will check it out. On a related note, I don't recall hearing that about Dog Soul? Do you have links? Please PM me if this isn't for public business. Thanks.

AFAIK, that's the company whose staff screwed John Cooper - in my not so humble opinion, the best d20 book editor EVAR - out of his pay, lied, dodged, lied some more. Well, you get the picture.

I'd second the recommendation to avoid giving that company any money, or the people involved, if they have moved on to other ventures.

There is this thread.

Towards the end of the thread, several authors chime in about how they got screwed by Dog Soul Publishing. To read from the co-author of Kitsunemori about his experiences in this regard, start at post #168.

It is eyeopening.

I spent about 2 hours reading the whole thing and all the links to other places.

I'll never, ever buy anything that Dog Soul publishing (or Sean or Deborah Balsam) put out. It'd feel like stealing from the true authors.

Sorry for the thread Necromancy.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their input. Since this last few posts I've bought (or just got if it was free) and enjoyed:

Alzrius's suggestions of The Practical Enchanter, Eclipse: the Codex Persona, SORD

Stereofm's suggestions of Auran's Guardian and Shadowland

Catsclaw227's suggestion of Streets of Silver

Whizbang Dustyboots' suggestion of Redhurst

Amethal's suggestion of Steam and Steel

It's amazing how inexpensive it was to get the lot of these things from the out of print dealers or in pdf form.

So thanks again.

And since this thread has risen from the grave, I'll ask again, any more suggestions out there?

Not sure if its small enough, but

GODLIKE by Arc Dream Publishing is pretty awesome, and I've heard good things about their other books as well.

[*]Campaign Options - Mazes (Emerald Press)

So obviously I like insane diseased mouse-persons running around in arcane mazes stocked with paltry items.

OK, not really.

Cool, thanks. That one (along with Book of Alignment) was a personal project for me and the first one I've ever done. I've been thinking about doing it again, but it's a toss up between Pathfinder and 4e.
