<little question about> Psychic Characters

How often do you have psychic/psionic characters in your campaigns?

I accomodated psionics for a while in 3.0, and embraced it under then XPH.

Unfortunately, my current fascination with simplifying 3.5 play doesn't leave much room for Psionics.

I do not use psionics in my 3.0 game for a couple of reasons.
1. I do not like the way they are implemented in 3e.
2. I don't like using psionics in a fantasy game. It destroys my view of a fantasy world.
3. Did I mention I just don't like psionics in D&D?
I mean really, you have sorcerers already, that's practically the same as psionics in my book.

This poll seems to be missing at least one if not more than one option.
It seems that the majority of games include a relatively low number of psionic characters and I think that there is a fair range between "a few in our campaigns" and "Every other character"

Had them way back in first edition..... they were broken. Looked at the rules in second edition and they still seemed broken so they were not allowed. Looked at the rules for third edition and they seemed okay but it turned out they were still broken. Now with 3.5 I hear rumours that they are better but..... well it would seem I am well past the point of shame on me and so I am not gonna shell out any more coinage on psionics, nor will I waste anymore time on it.

In my current game I have a gestalt soulknife/urban ranger and a gestalt fighter/psychic warrior. My players, especially the ones who have played the longest, at least find them interesting enough to consider. I thought they didn't work very well in 3.0, but love them in 3.5. I'd run an all psionics game if my players ever wanted to. I think most of the hate for psionics is rooted in older editions, but I think my group understand the difference.

I haven't played too many psionic characters in my day. I had one way back in AD&D 1st edition, a mage with psionic powers.

At some point, I plan on creating a campaign where the ONLY special FX will be psionics. Ideally it would be a Future campaign, but Fantasy works just fine as well.

Two of the PCs in my d20 Modern campaign are psions, and psionic powers play a big role in the storyline. Never use them in a D&D campaign, though -- it just seems anachronistic.

In my Northern Crown campaign world, psionics appear as folk magic "knacks," like having "second sight" or "the evil eye."
