We were told the Realms was in for a kind of shake up at GenCon, so there might be LESS background that is important to the campaign.

As for the integration. It was explained to us as "Imagine you could take the path less traveled in that novel you just read, finishing the part of the story that the heroes in the novel didn't. Imagine if a novel was written where Drizz't ended up helping your mission from a different angle. That's the kind of thing we're going for."

One of the things they did mention was the the shakeup of the Forgotten Realms was starting with R.A. Salvatore's "The Orc King", which should be out this month.

Living Arcanis will continue its current rules format until the end of the current storyline, which will occur at its own convention (Arcanis Con) and we will have the date information as soon as we put together a venue.

Legends of the white star huh? Intreseting 2 living death type spinnoffs, BOTH premiring at Origins this year. As far as I know Witchhunter: Dark Providence is a dark pulp/gothig horror campaign as well. And it too has a few old Living Death authors on board.

I find it really gutsy on LotWS to premir at origins, since thats the flagship convention for Arcanis these days. One con, 2 competing simmilar living campaings starting...Sounds like a battle royale. Ill have to keep my eyes on it.

Actually, we thought that having both at Origins was very cool. The horror rpg players were able to play horror games during more of the whole convention. They are different rule systems and different time periods, so Fellowship of the White Star (FotWS) and Witchhunter seemed to compliment each other very well. I'm one of the FotWS authors (campaign and modules) and I enjoyed playing the WH modules There's no real competition, WH/Paradigm are good peeps
