In 1E they are:
Alien
Mystical
Mutation
Psionics
Super Science
Training

All of which are able to fit in the RL w/ Divergent setting. The Judges would have the option to decide on any new power sources as they come up. As Knight Otu suggested, we could hold off on Alien Power Source, at least to start off with, since it doesn't seem to fit the setting at this point.

Kylara, what power sources are used as examples in M&M?

KO,

In M&M 2.0 the sources are: Alien, Biological, Chi, Divine, Magic, Mystic, Mutant, Preternatural, Psionic, Psychic, Skill, Technology, Training.

E: Comments

Just post up your answers to the 3 questions

I don't have the MM rules so can't play (unless some kind soul writes me up a character:)) but I'd say go for a Catalyst event. Perhaps a recurring one (eg the comet visits earth every 320 years) so it maybe that the secret, 600 yr old mystic cult who have been looking for 'the chosen one' is viable

Catalyst Event = Mutant, (including Psionic/Psychic mutants

1. Mutant geniuses create:
Superscience - Biological, Technology

2. Some latent mutants are able to focus their abilities using ancient practices of
Mysticism - Chi, Mystic, Magic, Preternatural

3. and there are still a few heroes whose ability is
Natural - Skill, Training

and then the Aliens turn up?

2) Near Average (PL8-12)

B) Character Origin
1) Limited Scope (Restricted to a few options)

C) Setting Origin
3) RL Returning catylicit/divergant events (The return of the Millenium Commet)

5) Interested in Judging in some way
6) Interested in helping organizing things.

This way it is clear what is meant without having to interpret anything.

Bront, we already have 16, and I am quite sure that once people have the book we will pick up more, interest definitely does not seem like it will be a problem area.

The only thing that I personally can think of as unallowing would be Aliens, other then that, everything else can kind of be justified by the Divergent of Event (which is in the lead). I think we can get by with:
Mutation
Mutate(radiactive bite, etc, caused by super science)
Magic (begins working after the divergent event)
Super Science (Including Armor, Cybernetics, etc)
Training

That should certainly be enough to cover 95% of things, and get us started, beyond that, the judges would be able to approve and deny additional Power Sources, or anything else that might come up.
Ahh, well, not knowing what they were off hand, I agree that the only limit needs to be Aliens, at least initialy, which is actualy a vote for nearly unlimited power sources vs fairly limited.
