Saurans
Saurans are a subrace of lizardfolk most commonly found within the Kingdom of Paludosus where they make up the majority of the population. Shorter than Lizardfolk adult Saurans stand about 6 foot tall. They also differ visually in being somewhat slimmer in build with a shorter, thinner tail. Their hides are more suple than their kin and also have a darker colouration, often with black markings in evidence. Their jaws are slightly less pronounced and their hands have longer fingers tipped with vestigial claws.
As Saurans age their scales lose their lustre and any greens and browns turn slowly towards grey.
SAURANS AS CHARACTERS
Sauran characters possess the following racial traits.
— +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, –2 Intelligence.
—Medium size.
—A Sauran’s base land speed is 30 feet.
—Racial Skills: Sauran have a +2 racial bonus on Balance, Jump, and Swim checks.
—Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Sauran is automatically proficient with a Shortspear, Longspear and Spear.
— +4 natural armor bonus.
—Natural Weapons: Bite (1d4).
—Automatic Languages: Draconic, Tradespeak. Bonus Languages: Aquan, Goblin, Gnoll, Orc.
—Favored Class: Fighter.
—Level adjustment +1.
