Red heals up to 118 HP and slices on the forehand and the backhand (rolled 31, 26) for a total of 53 points of damage. The dragon, who is not even worth being named, has 19 HP remaining.

Round 587: The dragon withdraws straight down into the ground, using its claws for their true purpose. Immunity to magic is not too useful when a big guy is cutting you to ribbons with a big sword.

A draw is declared at the end of round 591.

So, what comes out for Lawful Neutral next?

Let me check my list of burrowing giants.

There are none in any of the following: Monster Manual, Monster Manual II, Fiend Folio, Monster Manual III, Draconomicon, Expanded Psionic Handbook, or Creature Catalog. The WotC Monster Index does not hafe creatures listed by type, so I did not check.

Alter self does not give you many options if you are a giant. I could only find ogre, ogre mage, and forest troll (if you need to climb, I suppose). Oh, well, at least Red got a lot of mileage out of feeblemind. Who ever heard of a giant casting feeblemind?
 


A red-skinned humanoid made out of machinery enters the arena to 0N15E. It is dressed in golden ganded mail underneath a flowing red robe and wielding a shining sword. It gestures towards the far side of the arena, as if pointing at is opponent.

Ready enervation ray for when opponent enters the arena.
 

Round 592

A 80 foot long, 5 foot diameter worm covered with plates of dark purple chitinous armor 'runs' to 0N40E.

The enervation ray easily hits (rolled 14 touch) for 1 negative level. The worm has 195 hp left.
 


Round 593

The worm turns around and runs back out of the arena! (Rolled 9 Will save) OOC: Boo!

A colossal scorpion charges to 20N30E and swats Kola like he was a mosquito. (Rolled 50+2)

Kola is pulled into the scorpion's massive square. (Rolled 75 vs. 27 Grp check)

Kola takes 18-10 damage from the initial hit. Then he is constricted for another 19. He has 64 hp left.

IC: "Yippee. That will teach that worm for breaking one of the laws of the universe."

Touch the scorpion twice, trying to draw its life force into me. It looks like quite a hit point race here.

OOC: There is an error in the entry about the vampiric touch. In the stat block it says 5d6, but in the description of the ability it says as a level 13 caster, which would be 6d6.
 

Round 594

Kola heals to 69 hp, then touches for 24 and 22. Kola has 93 hp, the scorpion has 254 hp.

The scorpion squeezes Kola four times and deals 33 claw damage plus 92 constriction damage. Kola is destroyed and the scorpion enters the Hall of Fame! :)

Next up for LN: an abeil queen. (MM II) She knows everything about scorpions in general, and knows that colossal scorpions have a 30 foot reach. Her metamagic feat is Quicken Spell. You must determine her spells randomly, but you can choose between a random quickened spell and a random spell of the normal level.
