Of course Record of Lodoss War has a very D&Dish feel to it: it's based on the D&D campaign the creator ran when he was in high school. :)

I recommend watching Record of Lodoss War. It's one of the few anime series that I can tolerate, in fact, I really like it. (Plus, the dark elf chick, Pirotess, is really hot, and I'm not the type of guy who normally drools over cartoon girls, so that should give you an idea. ;) )

I'm glad someone else said it first! :)

Does anyone know anything about the "side story" of Lodoss War? I think it was called Legends of Crystarria or something and it dealt with Ashram and Pirotess' new kingdom. I thought about checking that one out some time.

I havn't seen them but there's a movie and an OAV both called Legend of Crystania about Pirotesse and Ashram.

However, from all accounts, it is nowhere near as good as Lodoss War.
