logic of low POD sales?

No, it has not. LSI is just the cheapest with the best quality. I much prefer Booksurge but they are set up more as a small print run type printer as opposed to true POD (aka. one at a time printing). LSI is a true pain to work with but they do produce quality books, at least in my experience.

Thanks,
Bill

I'll second that. Customer Service stinks, but the price and quality is great.

I recall at GenCon last year seeing my fellow E.N.Publishing folks selling gorgeous copies of Deadly Games, for less than $20. I think it might have been $16, for a ~100 page book. It was originally released as a pdf at RPGNow, and apparently someone did a print run. I wish I'd gotten one, actually.

We printed that book (RPGNow/RPGMall) for them. 10 copies of an averaged sized perfect bound book typically runs only $30-40. So it's easy to get involved.

I donno about all this talk about printing... I mean who here is wanting to start a printing company just to support your hobby or this small RPG world? The reason we and others outsource is cause they pay for this big machines by keeping them running all day long with a backlog of orders. Is that the life you want or are you RPG writers?

James,
How does this sound. POD have lagging sales because they are made without thought to thier place in the market or the market share they need to capture. So they then need to make a market as well but can not because the money need to make the product preclues any marketing budget to develop the share to increase the number of sales to make the market grow.

So which comes first the product or the marketing?
