We definitely will!

Thanks, Methuslah! :D

So.... not being very con-experienced, what should I be giving out prizes for, exactly?

Good RPing? D&D The Weakest Link? (*pointed look at Tallarn's brother*)

Seems like it's looking like somewhere in the region of 10 to 15, then, number-wise?

First of all, see what prizes you have, how many compaired to how many people you have. Prizes should be one of the last things you should worry about. Get the date of the event, a place to hold it, and games in slots before worrying about prizes.

Prizes I did two ways. The first Gameday I gave a prize to all the DMs and then had them give out two books based on whatever they wanted. Some of the people didn't like that idea.

The second gameday I actually had more prizes then people so everyone walked out with at least one book and many people got two. I had them roll the magical d30 when they arrived to determine what prize they got.

If you'd like, you can post an ad, free, in the relevant issue of Almanac (two or three, depending whether it is August or September - if in August I'll need it within the next few weeks).

As for location, if it is to be twenty-five or less, I would suggest the fuction room of a pub. I've been to small cons in such places before and they've always been a blast. Also, you can often get the rooms for free, as long as sufficient people are coming (the landlord will figure on making the price up on drinks, bar food, etc. - the other advantages of holding a meeting in the top of a pub!)

Function room of a pub sounds like a good idea! There's a few local places I can check out. Cool!

Crater: my God, I hadn't even thought that far ahead! I was figuring on publicity being pretty much restricted to advertising here and me telling my friends. Maybe we should have a poster or something though? :) (I dunno yet!!)

Once we have a date set (September 13th looking likely at this stage) and the venue booked, it would be nice if people could advertise the date in their sigs, to help out.

Yes :) I'm going to look into locals pubs this week and see what I turn up. (Currently looking for a job and moving from my students digs back to my parents so it might be a few days!)

Crater, sudden brainwave: could we possibly have a logo of some kind? (Something I could stick on a web page, posters, etc?) That would be really cool. Thanks for the offer by the way!

Yes, having checked my schedule this summer September 13th is looking most likely. Right between the end of summer school and the start of the autumn semester! :D
