First Post
I'm looking for ways to get my Psychic Warrior's longsword damage up. He is a 3.25 character, 7th level, 8th after our next encounter:
(This character uses the 3.0 psionics rules)

S:18 D:14 C:10 W:16 I:10 Ch:13
Feats: Power Attack, Psionic Weapon, Imp. Init., Dodge, Mobility, Blooded and Weapon Specialisation and Weapon Focus

Psi powers: (3.0)
0:Elfsight, Talons and Valor
1: Expanded Vision, Biofeedback and Hustle
2:Vigilance and Combat Prescience
3: Psionic Weapon ( http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/pse/20030426a )

He uses a +1 keen longsword

I was thinking Power lunge, since he likes to charge. Any input?

Charges? Hmm. MiniHB charge feats... Hurling Charge, Reckless Charge and all the others come to mind and work pretty nicely with Power Attack and a twohanded weapon.

Get Mobility perhaps.

Does Leap Attacks increase to Power Attack Multiplyer work when you use a weapon two handed, or only apply to two-handed weapons?

It works regardless of whether the weapon you wield is one or two handed. If you use a two-handed weapon, you deal triple the extra damage from Power Attack.

As for increasing damage, when you gain your next level take the Animal Affinity power. It's not an enhancement bonus, so it'll stack with Bull's Strength/Gauntlets of Ogre Power/Belt of Giant's strength.

How did you manage Weapon Specialization? PsyWar's list of bonus feats doesn't normally include it. If that's an oversight, replace it with Deep Impact for resolving your attack as a touch attack for 5 PP. Combine this with a Two-Handed Power Attack for even more damage.

Either way...just my 2 cp

If you don't mind my asking, why are you using the 3.0 psionics rules in a 3.5 game?

If you're using Forgotten Realms material, Magic of Faerun has a Feat called Heavy Weapon proficiency. With it, you can wield weapons made of gold or platinum alchemically treated to harden them- in other words, special materials, akin to mithril or darkwood.

Heavy Weapons have more mass, and functionally work like weapons that have had a size increase. I don't have the chart in front of me, but I believe that the 1d8 longsword's base damage would be boosted to 2d6 (IOW, from an average of 4.5 to an average of 7) when made of gold or platinum.

I'm not playing in a 3.5 game. I'm not a *huge* fan of 3.5; I prefer the psionics rules presented in 3.0, so I use them. I am playing in a game that a few Midwestern d&d groups have dubbed "3.25", a sort of "combination" of 3.0 and 3.5 material.

This game is "Expedition to Castle Ravenloft" focused and the DM allowed his players the option to use any published WotC material. Many of the players enjoy "min-maxing" to use the old parlance, or as I prefer, munchkinizing. I wanted to play the PsyWar from 3.0 because I wanted to limit my choices. But this 3.0 build ending up really rocking the house, after the addition of some 3.5 elements.

Ah, ok, thanks :) That makes more sense now!
