I know this is old news, but I'm having fun with the new media embed tool.

And you must admit, this was definitely one of the best moments of the 4e marketing campaign...

Its funny too, since I remember there were calls for blood when it was first released (though mainly by the Gnome-Must-Be-In-PHB1 Group).

But yeah, it certainly was. I wonder if they ever thought the Gnome and Francis would become so popular.

Even in the MM, Gnomes still rock and take names. Gnome warlocks rule, and I have the gnome card for Living FR. Damage me and I turn invisible.

C.I.D.

Well, it's sort of "duh" that it kinda backfired.

The tiefling comes across as a narcissistic murderous snob, whereas the gnome is cute lil guy who calls his mum and has a wombat who he gives raspberries. Snob kills the cute gnome and boots wombat, and they wonder why people are sympathising with the gnome and rejecting the tiefling? Hmm...

If nothing else, "I'm a monster...RAWR!" has earned its' rightful place in the gamer's lexicon. It's this edition's "I'm attacking the darkness".

*EDIT* Oh, and that embedded media trick is pretty nifty, too.

“Fabulous,” Kiersta said. “It’s so great to meet all of you. I know we’re going to have a blast. But you know? This is my third year that I’ve been an R.A., and this is the first floor I’ve been on in any hall that didn’t have even one delving and discovery major. That’s a pretty common major. I wonder why that is?”

“Were the other floors you’ve been on in Harlowe?” Shiel, the kobold, asked.

“Uh, no,” Kiersta said. “Why?”

“Oh, no real reason,” Shiel said in a mock-disinterested tone. “It’s just… some races don’t find the idea of leading a team of armed bandits into some poor creatures’ homes and slaughtering them for their gold and magical treasures as appealing as humans do, you know?”

“I didn’t mean any offense…”

If you hate gnomes and love tieflings, and think it's funny to tease people about their tastes in D&D passing into history.

Yes, exactly! I do hate gnomes. I dream every night of stuffing the Travelocity gnome in the microwave and listening to him scream until his head pops.

Gnome-friendly, myself, ambivalent toward tieflings, and I love this advert. Different strokes, and all that.
