Looking for 1ed and 2ed links

Legend
I think probably all the 1ed and 2ed rules are still under copyright and there is nothing like the 3ed SRD, but I want to try if I can find at least the basics somewhere. I have played 1ed and read 2ed about 7 years ago but really I don't remember them clearly.

Does anybody know of any website that might have such information? Is there any messageboard or a good webpage for old-fashioned fans of the previous D&D and AD&D editions? I tried Google but it returns too many results and after checking already quite many I haven't found much of what I wish... :(

That's a tough order to fill. T$R cracked down pretty hard on D&D websites praticularly ones that had any game mechanics information. I'm sure they're out there but if TSR didn't find them you'll probably have a pretty tough time.

Very strange... 3ed is the current ongoing business but Wizards keep the SRD for everyone to read. I wonder why older editions must be so secret... I noticed there are very cheap books for online sale (5$ for the D&D Rules Cyclopedia sounds nice), but damn I don't have a credit card! :p

definiately try dragonsfoot. It's good for 1e as well as OD&D.

There's also the OD&Dguild, a yahoo group

One thing you might want to look into is the Hackmaster RPG (a 1e parady/clone). They have an active forum at www.kenzerco.com

See if they accept PayPal. You can get a PayPal account that draws upon you bak account as opposed to a credit card. $5 for the Rules Cyclopedia is a steal. I had seen it goe for $30+ on Ebay.

I'm pretty sure $5 is for the ESD. It's good value, but I want the print version myself. It does seem to go for real high on Ebay though.

Yes it is in fact, of course it couldn't be that cheap if it was a book! :)
But I guess it is quite big, at least it sounds like it contains at least 3 original books equivalent...
