Are there any palyable races that are beastmen, wookie or the Weren from Alernity like in looks and culture? Been wanting to play a race like this for awhile now. Im trying to stay away from anthropomorphic animal which I am not interested in. Plus needs to be published by Wizards or Pazio (Dungeon or Dragon), my DM already ruled it.

There were beastmen in dnd 2e (I am sure their is a conversion out there somewhere - possibly here in the Creature Catalog - but that is not go for you by the sounds of it anyway). :(

Hmm. What about the Alahgi (Not sure of the spelling)? Hairy, beastmen of the forest in Forgotten Realms. I am not a big fan of them, but they are out there and are a little wookie-like. I think they appear in the MC:FR. Could get more info if you like?

Other than that I guess there is the option of playing a yeti (OA). May need to develop monster levels for it. Or even a taer (Dragonlance I believe).

Just some ideas. I don't have any books with me, but they were a couple off the top of my head. Even modifying orc may do. Just make them hairy ;)

Yeah, I love the taer :)
Alaghi have a LA I think :(
Racial levels can a/c for LA, but i know several people are not fond of them. But whatever suits.

From Living Greyhawk Journal:

Beastfolk
- +4 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom.
- Medium size.
- A beastfolk's base land speed is 30 feet.
- Racial Hit Dice: A beastfolk begins with two levels of humanoid, which provide 2d8 Hit Dice, a base attack bonus of +1, and base saving throw bonuses of Fort +0, Ref +3, and Will +0.
- Racial Skills: A beastfolk's humanoid levels give it skill points equal to 5 x (2 + Int modifier, minimum 1). Its class skills are Climb, Hide, and Move Silently.
- Racial Feats: A beastfolk's humanoid levels give it one feat.
- Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A beastfolk is automatically proficient with all simple weapons.
- Low-Light Vision: A beastfolk can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. It retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
- Spell Resistance 20 (Ex): A beastfolk can avoid the effects of spells and spell-like abilities that directly affect it. To determine if a spell or spell-like ability works against a beastfolk, the caster must make a caster level check (1d20 + caster level). If the result equals or exceeds 20, the spell works normally, although the beastfolk is still allowed a saving throw.
- When in areas of thick greenery, such as their forest habitat, beastfolk have a +8 racial bonus to Hide checks.
- Automatic Language: Sylvan. Bonus Languages: Common, Elven, Gnome.
- Favored Class: Rogue.
- Level Adjustment: +2??

Which issue of the Journal is this from? What do they look like?

I think it was issue #2, but I don't recall.

They're about 5' tall, humanlike build, animal-like nose and pointed ears, covered in fur that changes color to match their surroundings. They're NG, live in forests and jungles, and have a completely egalitarian society. They're completely atheistic and have no concept of worship of any kind.

Wookiees are found in the Star Wars Revised Core Rules (and the non-revised version also) and is published by WotC.

Weren can be found in the D20 Future published by WotC.

Sasquatch are found in the D20 Modern Menace Manual by WotC.
