Looking for a D&D Wiki-like Utility...

Does it exists?

I'm looking for something that would create easily browsable and easily editable with outside tools (HTML or, even better, XML, files) with a number of templates (at least class, feat, spell, and creature). The code must be open so as to allow fundamental modifications.

For example, let say I want to enter a new creature: I have a drop-down box to choose the creature's type, another for its size, I enter its amount of HD in a box, etc. It automatically enters the standard modifiers for size, ability scores, synergy, feats, and so on to the various scores, so that I don't have, for example, to enter the creature's initiative score.

Same thing for spells and feats.

In fact, it would be a wiki with forms and a good bit of coding for autocalculations.

I've thought about coding it myself, but I'm not sure I could pull it, so I'd like to know if something like that already exist -- or, if an existing wiki software could easily be modified to do something like that.

I'm not sure if there is something out there that meets your specs or not.

I have been using WikidPad which is Python based I believe. It is rumored to be going open source as the maintainer has run out of time to keep on top of it. This runs on a local PC without the need for a web server or anything.

Just read about this on the front page: 10 Foot Wiki.

TenFootWiki was indeed designed to do most of what you describe. You do have to cut and paste the monsters, feats, etc into it yourself, but you don't need to do any coding. Had I the time, I'd create an SRDWiki with all the SRD stuff in it, but that would take more time and effort than I have available.

thats a realy cool wiki. I haven't looked at the code, but how do you do the loading of the separate parts into the same document?

Neat! I've been thinking of using wikis to design my campaign worlds and then to track campaigns I run in them. This may open up greater possabilities than I thought were available to me.

I started using the wiki from UncleBear. I am liking it more and more as I use it and add additional content.

Bravo UncleBear for your efforts.
