Looking for a Sci-Fi RPG like Space 1999 and Aliens combined

I have been running Dungeon Crawl Classic and Call of Cthulhu games for awhile and now want to also try DMing a Sci-Fi space age rpg. I am looking for a rpg that combines such great shows as Space 1999 and Aliens. I only want a rpg that is still in print...no dead game please

Any suggestions? I was looking at Traveller and Rogue Trader but I am still on the fence.

Stars Without Number is a recent sci-fi/space-opera RPG based on old-school D&D and Traveller but "modernized" quite a bit to meet current expectations. It also has very strong support of sandbox gaming. And best of all, the basic rules are free!

Oddly, the "recent" reboot of Paranoia included advice/rules on how to use the system to run a serious- IOW, non-comedic- campaign. Given the setting of a domed city, etc...

Starblazer Adventures is a massive toolkit that can do all kinds of sci-fi, Hard Nova II is a great small rpg - super simple

Just a quick note, if you need some inspiration for your game, there's this website called Serena Dawn that has a lot of background information on the Aliens universe as well as rules for playing it with the Fuzion rule system (Mekton Zeta), very interesting.

Imo you can play everything with Traveller - an easy, adaptable, fast SF RPG without levels or a usual class structure but with an old-but-still-innovative-and-funcharacter building process.
