Looking for a spell again

milo

First Post
I have been scouring my books in search of a sor/wiz spell level 7 or lower or a cleric spell level 8 or lower for crowd control against aberrations(doesn't have to be specific to aberrations). Because we are fighting a large number of aberrations I am looking for reflex or fort saves. I am looking for area spells or multiple target spells

Also, if they are not flying and the area that you will be fighting in is comprised of natural stone, transmute rock to mud (5th) and scalding mud (6th, Sandstorm) cover a very large area.

Field of Icy Razors (lev 8) is nice (Spell Compendium)

1d6/level (max 20d6) half cold, half slashing
Move reduced by 20on a failed save

Also Radiant Assualt (lev 7) (Spell Compendium)
20' radius 1d6 per level (max 15d6)
Save or dazed for 1d6 rounds (ouch) - otherwise dazzled for 1d6 rounds (bleh).

Wall of Gears (lev 6) (Spell Compendium) does 1d6 per level damage (max 15d6) with 10' range, which is not to be sneezed at :)

I looked at radiant assault, but it is a will save, other than that it looks like a great spell. Wall of gears is another spell I was contemplating, need to look at it again, but I will probably take it. The problem with wall spells is that there will be beholders so I don't think they will last very long due to disintegrate.

Lords of madness had a few anti aberration spells invoking the "Cerulean Sign", basically Lovecraft's [not Derleth's] elder sign turned into a weeping willow tree.

Yup: INVOKE THE CERULEAN SIGN is a low lvl but good scaling anti abberation spell. It depends an their HD versus your CL for what effect, so if your fighting hordes of weak ones, it could be a great one. If you extend it, each effect lasts 2 rounds aswell!

For the cleric spell: blade barrier?
