Looking for Board Game Recommendations for 8 and 11 year olds

Escape is another one that my daughter and nephews (11 and 12) enjoy. If you get it, I recommend the base game and the curses expansion. I bought the big box with all of the expansion and there's never enough interest to try the more complex expansions (even with my adult boardgaming friends).

I've got 2 kids (8 & 10) and we play lots of board games. Main current favourites are Machi Koro (get the deluxe set, learn to play with the base game then introduce the Harbour expansion) and Carcassonne.

Cluedo junior (the one with the red magnifying glass) is great! I have many happy memories with that one, it could be out of print but should be available in amazon used, eBay etc

On my personal experience, there's Matryoshka, from White Goblin Games. I don't personally think Ticket to Ride is that deep. By the way, have you tried Carcassonne? I've played with a 12 yo girl a few times, and she sometimes even beats me!
