Looking for DM screen

Dragonmarked DM

First Post
I've not really ever been happy with any of the DM screens I have bought so far. The best one I've had was one I downloaded a couple of years ago and put together my self. Since that time The screen has been put in the grave and I've forgotten where I downloaded it from ( not to mention it was 3.0). Does anybody have a screen they like or know where to find a good downloadable one?

A couple of the cool features the long dead one had where things like ready made NPC stats for all the main classes lvl 1-20, XP charts, skill checks, rules for different combat actions, and several other things. I remember it was an extra large screen when put together, but was well worth it. (of course I had to supply some cool art work for the players side of the screen)

Back when I was using them I had a smaller but I think useful screen, which you can find here. I don't really remember where I downloaded it from, originally, but it came in 4 seperate documents (player's sheets, campaign sheets, and so on).
You can also look at many sites, such as this one, and see if there is anything you like.

I like Kenzer's DM screen. With all the panels and the info on them I rarely need to refer to the PH or DMG. Plus the couple of panels of Kalamar specific stuff piqued my interest enough to make me get the "core" books for the setting, which I have stolen a good bit from for my campaign world.

It is $20.00, well laminated, and pretty durable. I have no doubt that the staples holding the panels together will one day give out, but I think the screen is still the best ever made for D&D as a retail product.

I agree with Treebore, I also use the Kalamar screen as well as the Scarred Lands screen. Each has different info avalible. I remove the staples manually in my kalamar screen to seperate the kenzer specific info and use that in my Friday night Kalamar game.

Examples: Kenzer screeen - skills, treasure tables, weapon/armor tables, xp tables, encounter challenge chart, spotting difficulty, turning chart, light table, listen DC's, attack modifiers, concealment/cover chart... and thats not even half of what's there. One gag table is a chart to record players pizza prefrences :)

Scarred Lands screen - Spellcraft DC's, Materials Hardness/HP, Movement, Actions breakdown, Concentration Dc's, Jump distances, Special Combat Situations, and right now on the Swords&Sorcery Studio's sight its on sale for less than $4.00! It comes with a Glossy Cover booklet on Scarred Lands Races and 2 adventures.

Look for board game boards, i have a few multipanel boards and a giant DM screen that uses a 'Lord Soth's Charge' poster for the front.

And the 3.5 edition is available HERE. :)

Click HERE to check out the web tour for the old 3.0 edition. The 3.5 version moved some panels around for better organization, and added one entire new panel of info.

Kenzer has the best screen ever, there is really nothing even close.

I agree with you Crothian. It's one of the few that actually includes an friggin XP for monsters based on character level vs CR. In and of itself a huge timesaver.

I hate the Kenzer DM screen. I've tried using it for 2 years, but it is a useless piece of crap, with too much information you'll never ever need, obscuring the info you do need, so-so artwork (the gimmick of "now they're fighting, now they aren't", is cute...once), and panels constantly move away from the others (i.e. inwards), if you don't want to have your notes and dice constantly nudged off the table, you'll basically have to resort to use paperclips to keep them all together ... but that immediatly renders half of the panels useless, because they aren't easily accessible!

And it is portrait orientation. Landscape orientation means I don't have to stand up for 3/4 of the evening, because I otherwise won't be able to see the battlemat.
