I've finally put the final touches on a new epic spell system (it would have been out a year or so ago, but a deployment to Iraq got in the way...), and I'm looking for playtesters. I mean serious playtesters, not someone who wants to take a look at it, then not give me any feedback. I tried that with an early version, just to get some comments and feedback - no fewer than seven people asked for a copy, and I didn't anything from any of them.
So here's the skinny: The system is based on the one in the ELH, but has been heavily revised (as in, I rewrote it from the ground up). It's level-based, not DC-based. I've converted all the spells from the ELH to the new system (and they will be included with the packet of material), and also written about a hundred spells of ours (The Brood's) that were carried over from previous editions. This thing isn't going to print anytime soon, so there's no real deadline on playtesting, as long as it's a reasonable time frame - I'd like to get it finalized by the end of the year, earlier if possible. Once it's done, it will be a free product, but the spells themselves will be in a separate book. All playtesters will get credit in both the rules and the book (since they're both using the same system), and playtesters will receive a free copy of Legendary Strife, the book of spells. Anyone who wishes to contribute (in the way of new rules, spells, etc.) will also receive additional content credit. Though this is going to be a free download, I'd like to keep it under wraps until I've got everything finalized; all playtesters will be required to sign NDAs.
I think that's it. If you have questions, or want to try it out, drop me a post.
