Looking for good example layout of a dossier.

Does anyone know where to find a good visual example of the classic movie dossier? The kind with a picture in the upper left, vital stats near that, and text below. I always recall seeing them in the most recent Mission Impossible TV series, and they always reminded me of character sheets. I'd like to find a good generic template for them. Can anyone assist?

Interesting question. We need to find and start stockpiling stuff like this.
More things that would be useful in a D20M game:
  • Accident Reports
  • Insurance Forms
  • Blueprints (a ton of them!)
  • Criminal Record Sheets
  • Medical Record Sheets
  • Budget Forms and Accounting records
  • Requisition Forms
Then of course there are invoices and receipts, which everyone who has ever bought anything should have copies of.

Can't help you with the dossier, but it's definately something every D20M player could use.

Check @ OSIRS.net. It's a GM resource site (basically an Email server that simulates Dark*Matter's main Agency), but it has stuff like case files and dossiers (i think...i'm sure of case files, but swear i saw something about dossier type files).

Can't help you with blueprints, but in the later versions of Visio, there are templates for building plans. Everything from walls and loading bays to toilet stalls and sinks. Makes it pretty easy to lay out any kind of modern map you want.

I have quite a few...always looking to put out a book with good blueprints and such, just never get around to doing anything about it. :)

As for the ones you don't do yourself, google turns up tons of neat stuff. Construction/Architechture firms often post samples of what they do. I also have some wierd ones, like a PDF floorplan of a hockey arena type place.

Just do some searches for floor plans and the building type you are looking for.

Call of Cthulhu GMs are, as a group, OBSESSED with handouts and props. It's part of the theme of the game, really.

Look around CoC websites for stuff. Most of it is 20s-era specific ... BUT

Check out DeltaGreen ... they have a site called The Ice Cave that has archives of their newsgroup postings. I know they're big on modern-day props and things ... CDC reports, etc etc.

As a group we D20M GMs really should start collecting things like that for our own use, somewhere obvious for other D20M users to get at it.

not to hijack the thread, but I do believe that Modern backdrops has a bunch of maps in it as well...I'd have to get hildulf (editor) or vigilance (publisher) in here to verify. But I know there's a small town map in the demo version.

Yep. It's a good product. We've hashed it over a bit here.
