Looking for 'Knight' like PrC

I'm trying to help a friend of mine find a Prestige Class that fits with his current character.
She has some very specific likes and dislikes (some of which are the result of the type of campaign we're running) that make this rather difficult, so I turn here for some help.

Also, the DM has severily restricted the number of books we have access to, although he has let us pick some feats outside of those, and has allowed one of us to write his own prestige class, so we may be able to convince him to allow a prc from outside the allowed books.

Basically, we are looking for a Prestige Class that resembles the Paladin or Knight in that he has some kind of Code he lives and fights by.
(For those of you who know the reference: she's playing Derrek, a Solamnic Knight from the Dragonlance series)

So far, Derrek has two Noble levels (I believe this is a class from Dragonlance) and seven Fighter Levels.
Derrek has Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization both in the longsword and the GreatAxe, and Power Attack.
Derrek is Lawful Neutral

We are largely restricted to Player Handbook, Complete Arcane, Complete Warrior, Complete Adventurer and Complete Divine. Official Dragonlance books are also allowed. We have access to the Campaign setting and the War of the Lance sourcebook.

Because of the restrictions, we are kind of running out of good Fighter Bonus Feats, which is one of the reasons we are looking for a prc.

The player has indicated not to be interested in:
-PrC's that have/need spellcasting
-PrC's that require or provide Mounted Combat (she just switched this feat out for another in a retraining because there is no way in the campaign she can use a mount, unless she can summon one)
-PrC's that provide allies (she also switched out Leadership using retraining because of the size of the group.)

PrC's that require feats outside of the allowed books would be a problem: we'd have to convince the DM to allow both the Feat AND the PrC.

PrC's that provide the group with Bard-like bonusses are also unwanted, since we have a Bard in the group that is filling that role nicely, and she doesn't want to step on his toes.

Any help appreciated (including suggestions for Fighter Bonus feats that are interesting in case we are unable to find a PrC.)

as mentioned, other sources MAY be allowed, but PrC's from those sources that ALSO require you to use other material from the same source (example: skilltrick PrC's or PrC's that have 'new' feats as requirements) will probably be too much too ask of the DM

You could also re-fluff basically any melee classes to function in a knightly way, if your DM doesn't mind re-fluffing (and I don't know why he/she would). Or there's also the "Knight" in PHB2. Exactly how knightly are we talking? I mean, you don't have many sources to choose from, why not just look through them instead of coming and asking for help here? Not that I mind helping, but it's not exactly a lot of material compared to, well, everything else. In what way is the character knightly, what kind of knightly traits are you looking for in a class, and why avoid any and all spellcasting? A lot of knights have or improve upon spellcasting, especially in Complete Divine.

I found the Blade of the Emperor PrC from Path Of The Sword. The Class is made specifically for nobles, the abilities kick ass(Save for Loyalty Beyond Death, which is nowhere as strong as the Knight's) and it doesn't have dead levels, I think he might like it. It doesn't have a code of conduct per se, but if he disobeyed the laws of the "Empire"(which in this case could be Solamnia) he'd lose his status, and the Imperial Charter, Cover Identity, Assistance and Loyalty Beyond Death abilities depend on that.

Requirements:
Any Lawful, +6 BAB, Alertness, Iron Will, Gather Information and Spot 8 ranks.(As you can see, it's core only.)

I don't know anything about that class except what you just said about it. What matters is if the player likes it and the DM allows it.

I'd also consider if they can get their hands on it at all. It's an obscure rulebook. I don't think the publishers are in business anymore. Does that mean it's fair to download? I'm fuzzy about copyrights.

Knight Protector (CW) is probably your best bet. You gain bonuses when you help your ally, get extra attacks, supreme cleave, and you can expect some support and aid as a knight from NPCs. The code of honor is pretty neat too.

Kensai (CW) is also a great choice. Swear an oath to your lord, master your weapon of choice and in time you can become a warlord yourself. If you do chose this class, make sure your DM reads the side bar on the class about not screwing your players because they swear an oath.

Purple Dragon Knight (CW) is a neat 5 level class but it may not fit what your player wants. It requires mounted combat, but you don't get any mounted benefits from the class. I don't know if your DM would allow the Purple Dragons to exist in his world either or if he'd allow a similar organization. It has some funky skill requirements too. Finally, it has inspire courage which I know your friend doesn't want. However, the rallying cry, fear ability and last stand are pretty neat!

Thayan Knight (CW) is a lot like PDK. It has a funky special that your DM may not allow you to alter and the class requires you to act more as a bodyguard than anything else.

Justicar (CW) I've always seen this as more of a bounty hunter than a knight. Though I imagine with some proper roleplaying your character could wind up being The Hound from ASoIaF.

Shadowbane Inquisitor (CAv) is a paladin/rogue hybrid. It unfortunately would require massive rework of the character. It doesn't "need" spellcasting but you can use your spells to do other things with the PrC. It also requires turn undead for entry but you use those turn attempts for other things. I'm not sure if this is what your player is looking for but I wanted to list it just in case.

If Derrek was good I would suggest Anointed Knight but it doesn't look like your DM is allowing BoED either.

I know that your friend is against mounted combat and spell casting but there are some neat classes for those. Cavalier, Hospitalier and Pious Templar immediately leap to mind.

As a Knight, he should be well versed in mounted combat and chivalry. For these reasons, Purple Dragon Knight is one of my favorite Knight PrCs. BARRING mounted combat entirely, I think (as Grogg of the North so perfectly explained) that the Knight Protector is also a fantastic choice.

Come on now, guys. The OP specified Mounted Combat is a no-go. Knight Protector's not going to happen, yet everybody suggests it. Read that first post properly.
