Looking for neat magical items for a bard

Unfortunately, I don't actually OWN CA. So, "instruments from the book" doesn't do me much good, without at least a description.

Maybe I'll see about making a ring of cleanliness, but that would fall under House Rules, and isn't much subject for this thread.
Basically, they all give you a +2 circumstance bonus to Perform, a variable bonus to music checks for Countersong, Fascinate, and Suggestion, and if you have enough ranks in perform, you get some cool bardic spells once a day each. If you don't have enough ranks, you aren't worthy, and you take a negative level.

Sorry, not quite on topic...but could the abilities of a Hand of the Mage be crafted into something else...say a pair of gloves?

Isn't there a chocker that grants bonuses to charisma based skills? A Bag of Tricks might be entertaining as well ;)

You're probably thinking of the Circlet of Persuasion, which gives a +3 reaction bonus to all charisma skill checks.

The best part about it being, that as a reaction bonus, it stacks with any enchantment bonus from say, a Cloak of Charisma.

That'd be a competence bonus ;)

And even if it were an enhancement bonus, it would still stack with Cloak of Charisma because they are adding to different things (CoP adds to Charisma-based skill checks and CoC adds to Charisma itself).

I wondered about that. They called it a reaction bonus, but I couldn't find that listed in the table that describes the different types of bonuses. That sucks though. That means that a bonus from a masterwork musical instrument doesn't stack for perform.

..Wait. Those are circumstance bonuses, not competence. Rock on.

My bard/rogue is enjoying his new Staff of the Magi. :D

But check out the Rod of Spendor. What bard wouldn't want that?

Other than that, max out your Use Magic Device and load up on scrolls, wands, & staves.
