Looking For Podcasts, 'Zines, Blogs or Clubs For Reviews

First Post
Hi all,

As you may or may not (probably not!) know, I've recently had a fantasy humour novel about roleplaying published (see my sig for details). After an unplanned period out of print, we've now got a second printing out (same as the first, but with some typos fixed and a bunch of quotes at the front) and have a stack of review copies waiting to be sent out.

But no-one to send them to.

So I'm looking for people/organisations I could send the book to for a review. This could be 'zines and podcasts (either gaming or SF/Fantasy), reasonably well-read blogs, and even games clubs, where there's a fair number of members.

Do you have a favourite 'zine or podcast you think I should be contacting? If so, please post their details here and I'll drop them a line.

Alternatively, if you'd like to nominate yourself, then either post the relevant details here, or drop me a line at gamenight@jonnynexus.com giving:

a) details of where you plan to post the review;

b) a postal address (anywhere in the world) to post it to.

I'd be very grateful for any and all suggestions.

I should stress there's no catch here, or hidden agenda, beyond the obvious one. I've got a book I'm trying to sell, and as part of that I want to get as many reviews (and since I think it's a good book, I'm hoping they'll be broadly good ones) published as I can.

Thanks,

Jonny

If you trust the EN World reviewers (like me ;) ) you could always contact one or some or all of us and have a review written and posted to EN World.

Well I did contact the people on the staff list some time last year and ended up sending out two review copies - so I did think of EN World! :)

But I'd be very keen to get more reviews here, so if you're volunteering - and I'd be very grateful if you are - I'll be more than happy to send you a copy.

(And within reason, that applies to anyone else who wants to do a review on ENWorld - please post here below).

If I get a copy I might do a review on it for the Heroic Cthulhu podcast. It's got a decent number of downloads (over 10k/month right now) so that might be of assistance. Some of the good quotes might get quoted in games and such, you'd naturally get full credit for them if so and this may (obviously) help move copies of your book. See my signature for contact details.

Just sent an email off. And can I say that I think 10k/month is certainly what I'd call "decent"!

And I'd be flattered (probably pathetically so!) by any quotes. :)

Heh. I look forward to checking it out.

I'd only call it decent because I was thinking a thousand a month was pretty impressive when I first started, a bit less than a year ago. There is no telling where it will go now.

Have a listen, there are several short modules on there - maybe you'll get into it. I'll certainly let you know which one(s?) your stuff is in.
