looking for prestige class....

Crothian

First Post
Anyone know a of a Death oriented non evil cleric prestige class? I'm building an NPC so it doesn't matter what the requirements are, I can build the NPC to fit them. I just need to broaden the base of the NPC and feel a prestige class geared toward death, but not evil, will be a perfect fit.

There's the Doomguide from Faiths and Pantheons. Doomguides are required to be LN, like Kelemvor. Two things noteworthy about the PrC:
a) It hasn't been updated to 3.5, but nothing about it particularly requires updating
b) It's as overpowered as the Radiant Servant of Pelor. It gets full spellcasting, full undead turning ability, and bonus abilities. The only drawback is a d6 for hp.

I'd make one for you Crothy...but I doubt you'd like a Nemorgan based one anyway.

*subminial hint: BUY STRANGE LANDS: Lost Tribes of the Scarred Lands. It's VERY, VERY GOOD!!!*

I believe that one of the churches in Book of the Righteous is dedicated to Death, but it's not an evil church. I can't remember the name of the god(dess) or the name of the PrC right now but I'm pretty sure it's in there. Maybe it's Morwyn? Something like that - I don't have the book w/ me right now.

Close; she's healing, mercy, mothers, peace, forgiveness etc. I can see how'd you get her confused with death
;)

I'm looking in nthe book and I'll see who it is.....

edit: and it is Mormekar, the prestige class is a rebirth oriented one. Its really cool about someone really evil fixing their sins...but doesn't fit the character

If I had the book, I'd look into it.

Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed has a Champion of Death that's not necessarily evil. Check out some of its powers if you get a chance.

Take a look at the Acolyte in Pale Designs: A Poisoner's Handbook and see if that is what you are looking for. :)

And the winner is....

That actually works really well. I'm redefining Lolth, as more a demi god of just Drow and not so much the evil or the spiders. Of course the Drow are extinct in my game and as a demi god she doesn't have the outsider levels like in the D&Dg. Ah, the fun in redesigning the characters of the game....
