Looking for Scott Lynch

Hey there.

I am wondering if anyone has heard from, or of, Scott Lynch in about the past month. He is the author of Deeds Not Words and several other D20 products. He is usually pretty responsive to emails and active on mailing lists, but he has basically vanished.

Can anyone confirm he is, basically, alive and well and incommunicado for reasons of his own?

I have no particular reason to contact him per se, so, if he's been spending the past month teaching the Swedish Bikini Team to play D&D and just doesn't want to waste time chatting with nerds online, he doesn't need to get out of the hot tub on MY account.

I'm the one who posted the update linked in Zoatebix's message, and at this point, I feel like a complete idiot for being a trusting person and doing so.

At the time I posted that message, both Scott and his girlfriend had said they would get the CD situation sorted out (via the Deeds Not Words Yahoo group and a couple of individual e-mails to me from Scott's girlfriend), and I gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed to post the update at her request; she was having trouble accessing/using these boards.

The last post from Scott on the Yahoo group came on March 10, when he wrote the following:

Hey, all--

I am returning, more or less, to the 'net as I was before-- I will generally be
available at some point each day from now on. My apologies once again for
vanishing like a Pac-Man ghost.

I've made a date to burn the new CDs on Thursday. Jen has all the addresses
and has been helping me a great deal; those still owed a CD will be informed
of their tracking numbers (by either myself or Jen) after I get them out. I'll be
using UPS this time. No further *physical* C-Snark products will be offered
until I get my act together and have all the necessary equipment on my own
desktop; full refunds will be given to anyone who wants one, throughout
March and April, in addition to the CDs.

Considering he has made no further contact via En World, the Yahoo group, or e-mail, and that several people (myself included) have yet to receive either a refund or a CD, I have no idea what to think at this point. The "date to burn the new CDs" Scott mentioned passed over a month ago.

With all due respect to Corinth (who I know is in NO WAY directly involved with Cryptosnark Games), saying "access for him is still way unreliable" is a cop-out at this point. These CDs were supposed to have been received by all the paying customers by December 25. Considering that we're almost 4 months and a number of empty promises (such as the one I've quoted) past that, I'd say Scott's position is pretty indefensible at this point...

(Note: In case it ever comes up, I did in fact e-mail Scott at the time I posted the earlier update and decline the need for a refund of my $20. I bought the product and was still willing to pay for it. Of course, this was on the assumption I would actually RECEIVE the CD I purchased.)

Edited to add that finally getting to 100 posts on EN World via THIS message kind of sucks...

Lsat night I notified Scott's girlfriend. She received the message and said that she'd pass it along. I would expect Scott to say something soon.

Whatever the result, thanks for making the effort.

There's still been no word from either Scott or his girlfriend. Anyone else having problems still? Should I try again?

The man's written a novel, gotten an editor for it and is now working on selling the rights to various world markets. If it does well, then there's more of the same to come. I'd not count on him doing more than fulfilling outstanding obligations anymore, as he's moved on to a more profitable writing outlet.
