First Post
So there are two things I saw a few years ago I wanted to bring up to a new DM of mine. There is a stuff somewhere in the non-splat books featuring two awesome things either a feat or class/prestige class or Template..ect and if people can find them and point them out I'd be really happy. The first is something about Lycanthropes being able to retain their alignment but they can't willing change forms until they take it. The second is like a template or something about a character being killed by a wraith/dread wraith and the other party members killing the wraith before the character comes back as one as like a free wraith with their own characteristics. Help me plz.

I think there's something like that in the book Libris Mortis.

There is a feat about controlling Lycanthropy in the back of the Monster Manual called Control Shape, but I don't think it has anything to do with alignment.
Savage Species has the Emancipated Spawn prestige class

Rule Zero:
To paraphrase my upcoming rules revision:

"The GM is the player who makes the game world run, so the PCs can make the world run smoother by helping him do so."

Or for short:

"The GM is always right."

Which is to say, if your GM thinks killing a wraith to give your undead PCs freedom is a good idea, he doesn't need a rulebook to tell him it's okay.

Sweeeeeet. Now just gotta find that last thing~

Lycanthrope:

In the Complete Divine Web Enhancement, there is a prestige class called Moon Guardian. It allows an afflicted lycanthrope to retain their alignment and still shape shift.

Wraiths:

Newly created wraiths are enslaved to the wraith that created them until their master's death. So by slaying the creator you free the wraith. Given that they're intelligent a freed wraith could chose to come back to the party. However, daylight powerlessness would really hurt the ability to adventure. Libris Mortis does not have any rules for allowing PCs to play as a wraith (No level adjustment or class given). As a final nail in the coffin (har har!) Libris Mortis states that a wraith has an inescapable craving for constitution. So your new wraith adventuring friend is going to drain your life force away and then he'll feel bad about it afterwards.
