Looking to play in a WarCraft game

I'd love to DM this, but lack the book. I'll know how much money I can spend on books at the end of the month. If it's within my allotment, I'll consider picking it up. I'll keep tabs on this as best I can. It's not that likely, but if I can get the book for a little bit cheaper (30 instead of 35 or such) I'll see what I can do.

Edit: Of course, come to think of it, when Gary and I work together in a game, things fall apart. It might be some form of curse... but I'd like to break it sometime.

I've looked over the book and if I have the spare cash I'll probably pick it up, so depending on how I go in terms of cash flow I might be able to help ouy.

I believe I could help with that, but like so many others I lack the book. Nonetheless I'm interested in playing whatever resembles an Orc Shaman the most. :D

The Shaman is a PrC. You'd start out as a Healer, which is the divine caster that replaces Clerics and Druids.

It's pretty interesting... all races start out their divinists as Healers, and then there's a Priest PrC for the Alliance, the Shaman PrC for the Horde, and the Druid of the Wild PrC for the Night Elves. It's a pretty neat little system, and a way I'd consider using in regular DnD games to represent specialty clerics.

Check Amazon to get it for $24.47 (and free shipping if your order is over $25).

I think we can make this work, CS. One of these days a game of ours will last, and this one has so much built-in appeal I'd have to think it's a good candidate. :)

EDIT: Just noticed Amazon lists it as shipping within 1 to 2 MONTHS. Well, I ordered mine from them when it came out and already have it, so who knows?

Still can't order it yet. It'll have to wait and see how much cash I have in between months. I'm being very careful with my money in the hopes of having enough to pick up some books at the end of the month.

I don't have the book myself but with your help I am sure I can make a character.

If we do Hoard, what are the starting classes available? What are the Prestige Classes? Races?

Races that are typically Horde are Orc and Tauren. Goblins and Half-Orcs ore independents, but often fall in with the Horde. Alas, Trolls will be in a forthcoming supplement. Note that the book includes new stats for WarCraft Orcs, Half-Orcs and Goblins that differ greatly from the D & D Monster Manual.

Core classes are slightly modified Barbarians, Fighters, Rogues, Sorceres, and Wizards. The other 3.5 core classes do not exist. New core classes are the Healer, Scout and Tinker.

PrC's appropriate for Horde PC's include Beastmaster (all Horde), Druid of the Wild (Tauren), Gladiator (Blademaster) (all Horde), Horde Assassin (all Horde), Hunter (all Horde), Mounted Warrior (Orc), and Shaman (all Horde).

It's concievable a Night Elf could fall in with the Horde, and they have some other PrC's they can take.

I'm interested as well, but I also lack the book. However, I have access to it for character creation and the like, so could easily put together a character.

So count me in! I'd be interested in a rogue Night Elf or a Tauren, I think. Depending on what the party needs, I could go with a Tauren druidic type, or a Night Elf archer/beastmaster type.

Sadly I'm not up for running a game, though - just being a player.

If we did Hoard, then the Tauren would be my pick for a race (if possible), and I would want to aim at being either a Beastmaster, Gladiator, or Hunter PrC. Which classes lead to these particular PrC the fastest, plus requirements?

So do we have a current GM lined up? I haven't seen anything from Creamsteak in here in a while - maybe we could all paypal him a couple bucks to get him the book, eh? ;)

From what I'm seeing, here's the current list of people interested, in order of posting interest (It seems to have been agreed we'll be playing a Horde based game):

Creamsteak: Potential DM. In need of book.

Garyh: Orc Scout. Book in hand.
ES2: Tauren Beastmaster/Gladiator. No Book
Thels: No preference. No book.
Starman: No preference. No book.
Festy_Dog: Orc Shaman. No book
Dead_Radish: Tauren Druidic type, Night Elf Archer/Beastmaster or Orc Grunt. Access to book.
Venus: No preference. No book.

Did I miss anyone? Or has anything changed? Hopefully Creamsteak would be willing to have a 6 person game so that we won't have to try to kill each other off. ;)
