Looks like "Star Trek: Renegades" just hit Youtube

The production quality reminded me of Stargate SG-1, and then I saw Corin Nemec as captain of the Archer.:)

It's not bad. I'm enjoying it.

Renegades definitely struck me as B5/Crusade art-ish.

We had fun seeing how it fit into trek time, took awhile to clue in that it was post Voyager, and that Chekov is really really old.

costuming was a little hokey for uniforms. Granted, star fleet changes uniforms every 7 years, but these seemed a little low budget.

The USS Archer looked nice, but the crew seemed a little green to me.

They also re-used the shape shifter character from Gods and Men in Renegades.

I think Renegades was trying to set itself like a Pilot and do a series. Not a bad idea, but the acting was off and scenes were choppy.

Still, it was alright for a Trek effort. I guess my threshold is lower for Trek. :)

It was entertaining enough that I didn't regret seeing it.

It brought some Star Trek flavour, but I am not sure I was that fond of the story and the acting was ... uneven. If this had been an official new Star Trek show by CBS, I would have been disappointed. But I think the general idea to leave starfleet behind a bit sounded interesting - but then we end up doing Starfleet stuff anyway, so the concept is not yet proven. ;)

It was a good concept. It was hard work and they did good, but not great. I laughed when the other admiral told Chekov not to disobey orders… I half expected a joke about an old friend. A lot of dialog was forced and cliché.

The idea of a Kahn descendent was awesome. But she wasn’t anyway as awesome as I had hoped

The concept of a hacker in star trek is long sense missing

I have never liked section 31, and I really hate the idea of tuvok being part of it, but it was quick and glossed over.

I did find it funny that Parker Lewis kept loosing.

The idea of a former borg is cool, but like other ideas just aren’t well thought out. A whole crew of special butterflies is boreing…

Too many scense trying to be edgy… wow they talked about rape, and cut off someones hand… this is trek not game of thrones… the funniest moment though is when just a few second after cutting the hand off they use the teleporter…ha ha ha use the teleporter to put the bomb in stasis and handle it next week if you have too…

They did manage to get the Starfleet ‘you have to see this’

I can’t decide if the fight chorography was bad or an homage to old trek

The end kind of annoyed me… ‘hey you stole some gas, and some of you weren’t even in on it, and saving earth isn’t enough to get past that…” The idea is good but could use some corner work done…
I had hoped the emitter was for her and she was going to be deformed, the get out of death was cheesy…but it was startrek cheesy

All in all I would say for fan made 3 out of 5… it would suck if the big boys made this (but I have seen worse in theaters). If they get someone in to punch up the dialog, get some experience and maybe some editors in there...this could be a full show. I think it isn't ready for CBS but the ideas could be...

We just watched the Star Trek Continues episodes now.

They were better, and reasonably well done considering they were directed by and co-written by the lead actor. Who also helped build the set. That guy's not only busy, but wearing a lot of different hats and I think, did really well in capturing the feel of the original show and acting.

He definitely wears many hats. Take a look at some of the videos from their "Kirkstarter 2.0" Kickstarter campaign. He also does a really good gangster Kirk impression.

It wasn't terrible. I was a little surprised to see some of the actors in there (Edward Furlong and Sean Young, anyone?), but was a little put off by the acting. And, it was really sad for me to see how old Sean Young has gotten (man, I used to have a crush on her in my younger days).

Overall, solid effort. Weak storyline, not-so-stellar acting, and extremely weak CGI/Greenscreen. The ship battles were nice, the action sequences somewhat decent, and the love for Trek and the genre was there.
