Although it would be fascinating to see that film as done by Ken Burns, I believe you meant to type Ken Russell (Altered States, Lair of the White Worm, Tommy).

I think I'll go with straight bard for him. That seems pretty appropriate. I'm thinking of making him a tiefling...a little dark secret that would both explain his dark moods and his club foot (actually a hoof). We'll see. Dhampyr also sounds promising.
