I REALLY like arcane magic, and have been drawn to making arcane PrCs of late. My current idea for one, is somewhat simple. I am fleshing out the requirements, but the basis of the class looks like this.
Requirements: I know this is going to be an Epic spellcasting class, with HIGH feat requisites.
Hit die: d4
Skils: 2 + Int
1 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (6th), Half-Capacity
2 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (7th)
3 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (8th)
4 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (9th), Full Capacity
5 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (Any)
Enhenced Spell Slots - When the character begins taking levels as a Lord of the Arcane, he begins to truly expound on his Arcane Knowledge, using it to cast more spells than his fellows. A Lord can use his ranks in Knowledge (Arcana) to prepare more than just Epic spells. On a one-rank-for-one-level ratio, a Lord can prepare extra lower level spell slots.
At first level, he can only gain additional spells of up to 6th level.
At fifth level, a Lord can prepare additional spell slots up to one level lower than the highest level he can cast.
A Lord must still prepare spells in these slots as normal.
Any ranks of Knowledge (Arcana) used to prepare lower level slots due not count towards total skill ranks for determin Epic Spells per day.
Half-Capacity - At first level, a Lord can only create an additional number of spell slots equal to one half (rounded down) of the base number of spells per day of his base spellcasting class.
Full Capacity - At fourth level, a Lord can create an additional number of spell slots equal to his base spells per day.
Like I said, fairly strait-forward. Please let me know what you think.
