Lord of the Arcane

First Post
I REALLY like arcane magic, and have been drawn to making arcane PrCs of late. My current idea for one, is somewhat simple. I am fleshing out the requirements, but the basis of the class looks like this.

Requirements: I know this is going to be an Epic spellcasting class, with HIGH feat requisites.

Hit die: d4
Skils: 2 + Int

1 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (6th), Half-Capacity
2 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (7th)
3 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (8th)
4 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (9th), Full Capacity
5 +1 Level of existing spellcasting class, Enhanced Spell Slots (Any)

Enhenced Spell Slots - When the character begins taking levels as a Lord of the Arcane, he begins to truly expound on his Arcane Knowledge, using it to cast more spells than his fellows. A Lord can use his ranks in Knowledge (Arcana) to prepare more than just Epic spells. On a one-rank-for-one-level ratio, a Lord can prepare extra lower level spell slots.
At first level, he can only gain additional spells of up to 6th level.
At fifth level, a Lord can prepare additional spell slots up to one level lower than the highest level he can cast.
A Lord must still prepare spells in these slots as normal.
Any ranks of Knowledge (Arcana) used to prepare lower level slots due not count towards total skill ranks for determin Epic Spells per day.

Half-Capacity - At first level, a Lord can only create an additional number of spell slots equal to one half (rounded down) of the base number of spells per day of his base spellcasting class.

Full Capacity - At fourth level, a Lord can create an additional number of spell slots equal to his base spells per day.

Like I said, fairly strait-forward. Please let me know what you think.

If it is epic, BAB and saves are not needed as the epic rules superceed those of classes in this area.

Its interesting, I think I'd start with a lower max spell for enhanced spell slots and basically make it 2 spell levels per class level with no any in there. epic prestige classes are usually made so they can be taken to infinity and beyond so you could do the same here.

It was late when I posted the class, and I forgot that Epic had its own progressions. I had put the (Any) in there because I did not think the class would be too appealing to most people to take infinitely, especially with no bonus Epic feats. If I were to change it to start at a lower level of progression, and have it continue infinitely raising by two at each level, should I give bonus Epic feats, and how often?

Yes, the capacity abilities are regarding the Enhanced Spell Slots.

I was considering also putting a limit in there along the lines of "You cannot create more enhanced spell slots than of the level below it," so that people do not dump all their ranks into 9th level slots.
